If it’s 3 nights and you trust your family to feed your rabbit correctly, and your rabbit is used to that environment and has had adequate engagement/enrichment in that environment, I think it’s fine to leave your rabbit there. GI stasis is a symptom of something going on, such as eating something upsetting, stress, pain, etc.. If the environment…[Read more]

Hi forum members!
I’m hoping to get some advice on what to do with my foster bun during my short vacation.
I’ve had my foster bun for a couple weeks now and I’m planning to do a short vacation with my boyfriend nearby for 3 nights. We had planned this for a while, and my initial plan with the bun was to bring it back to the shelter for 4 days…[Read more]

We lost the G.pig we babysat, he was family.
We lost our beloved Lethal White Aussie, Sara, wrote about her here.
Then I find my hamster, Wilma, passed in her sleep
Ugh. Can we be done now? Nine times out of ten, death comes in threes, so please, no more.
Baby hammies at shelter, but I think I’m getting to old for cage cleaning, donating h…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Hay gone bad? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 1 month ago
Unless it had gotten wet, is getting moldy, blackened, etc.. it should be OK. Brown is natural and within the spectrum of hay color variation — it’s not bad or harmful, but likely won’t be eaten by your rabbit.

I’m not sure if it’s going bad and I should stop feeding my bunny this, or if it’s still okay. It doesn’t smell bad or anything and my bunny still eats this probably as much as he did when I first g…[Read more]

I’ve never found a great source online (the shipping is prohibitively expensive), but if you look for feed supply stores, or hardware stores in winter they often carry them. They are also sold as wood stove pellets (with no additives or propellants).

Yes, kiln dried pine is perfectly fine. Treated lumber of any kind isn’t safe.

I think you may have moved to non-neutral territory a bit too fast. You want them to be basically bonded before you move them out of the neutral space.
