ParsleyBun, I think spaying is the right call, especially for females. Their cancer risk gets so high, it’s just the sensible thing to do. You just need to be sure to go through an exotic vet so they get the very best care 🙂
Apollo and Luna go in for their vax tomorrow. I’m just going to pretend I’m not nervous, lol. Usually they’ve just been a…[Read more]

Azerane replied to the topic Ideas for cage off the floor? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 9 months ago
Either use a front/ side door as suggested, secure with those dog leash style clips, or use a top corner door. My cage has two levels, the top level door is a door that opens across the top corner. So a row of 1×3 grids lifts at the front, and then the adjoining row of 1×3 grids lifts from the top, so you end up with a corner opening which is easy…[Read more]

1. a) since weekly cleanouts except for litter trays are pretty much how I go anyway.
2. c) always been partial to a big bun and not so much the flat faced buns. Though lionheads are adorable with all that fluff.
3. c) mittens, although highly impractical, would be adorable, lol
4. c) that eye!
5. c) the chill and chew xD

Simply feeling hot doesn’t necessarily mean anything. How is the temperature in the house? Has it been warmer than normal?

With the bigger space, Pumpkin immediately attacked Casper and we separated them after petting them together for a moment. There was growling right out the gate as well. Hair was pulled. Of the three times hair has been pulled it’s always been Pumpkin attacking Casper, even though Casper is the excessive mounter and Pumpkin is more submissive a…[Read more]

I was petting my bunny cinnimon today and she felt hotter than normal. I only petted her face because she doesn’t let people pet her anywhere else so I don’t know if it is her whole body. I petted my other bunny Ollie to se if there was a difference there was but their coat type is a bit different and they never really feel the same. Is som…[Read more]

Hi, it is wonderful that saves this rabbit. I bet the bunny is much more happy now being away for the scary outdoors! I just wanted to add that the hutch you have might be ok, but a exercise pen or c&c Ford cage would be better. C&c girds only cost around 30 dollars too… at least the ones I found. I didn’t find the size of the hutch but it is dou…[Read more]

Thank you all so much for your kind words, they help a lot. Many people don’t understand the kind of bond that you can have with a rabbit, even some of my friends have trouble understanding it.
It really surprised me that my dad rushed over to comfort me on the day that I lost Breintje. Our relationship has always been a bit odd because he missed…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic “Snuffly” noises, no discharge? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 9 months ago
It’s unusual for a snuffly nose to just clear up on its own. It’s either a URI or a chronic problem (allergies, kinked sinuses due to face shape, tooth root problems, etc.). This doesn’t sound like an emergency, but you should have a vet do a more thorough investigation to rule out anything serious.

The mere existence of grooming doesn’t actually mean rabbits are bonded– it is a positive sign, but it is a common behavior behavior present during the bonding process, as opposed to just at the end.
I would actually recommend not doing the water spray nor always reducing after this occurs. In actuality, as long as they do not escalate into a…[Read more]

I have had my rabbit for a little over a week. I got him from a locally owned petstore. I was told he was 9 weeks old when I picked him up. so he is around 10 weeks now. He is acting completely fine and is eating normally. However his ear seems to be starting to lop i believe. Does this just mean his is a lion lop mix or should I be concerned?Â

The running around could perhaps have been a kind of seizure? Dogs can have seizures where they run around and cant be contacted. EC can cause seizures.
EC can re-occur, so its great that your vet put him on Panacur again. EC can manifest as seizures, head tilt, balance problems and/or kidney/bladder problems. It can probably also affect the gut.…[Read more]

Hello, so I know a common way of knowing that your rabbits are bonded is when they both groom each other. I have been bonding my two rabbits through the TokiHut method where you start with a small space and gradually increase. Fortunately, both my rabbits lay next to each other, groom one another, and flop by each other. But there is one a…[Read more]

Hi. my bunny has been recently feeling sick (last 3 days). He suddenly started to slightly tilt his head especially while eating and drinking (and for this reason he stopped eating his food and drinking). Also he became really lethargic and lays down all day.
Since he previously suffered from e cuniculi , even if in a different form (his body was…[Read more]
