I have a 6month old english lip mix named Winston! He is neutered and also litterbox trained, and overall a great bun except he like to pee on my bed. Before i got him neutered he peed on it once and never after did it again. He got on the bed regularly and was fine! Now he has been neutered for at least a month and he is starting to pee on my bed…[Read more]

Thanks! It’s been hard and really hope the no nipping today becomes the norm. I know all my posts don’t warrant a response but trying to keep it as a detailed journal as well as for help along the way š

OMG, the progress looks amazing! I’m so glad she is doing better now. I know it was scary to have that done. And then to doubt yourself about your decision, that must have been awful šĀ It looks like it will all be worth it in the end. She sounds so happy now.

I think this is day 5 with some stress bonding. Today I did the same as yesterday, one session starting on the dryer for 5 min, then down to the ottoman. This time Ruby didn’t nip. They were in there about 15 minutes without much interaction. One head war and I petted them. Then put them side by side again for pets before taking back upstairs.

I’m sooooo happy to hear that she’s turned a corner and is doing well! I’m constantly amazed by the resilience of rabbits. They really are amazing creatures. <3
Way to go Daisy and way to go YOU!

What does he currently have to chew on?
For the pen biting, it can help a lot to hang a sheet or a towel over the pen wall. Something about not being able to see through it makes them less obsessed. You can clip the towel in place with binder clips and it works pretty well.

So, Daisy had her surgery to remove an abscess on her mandible. It was first thought to be a dental abscess, but during the procedure, they discovered that there was no tooth root involved.
When I first picked her up from the vets, I was shaking and pretty much cried the whole drive home. She looked so poorly and sore.
The first week, we were…[Read more]

Did you try spraying it with white vinegar? My bunny is not a chewer but once in awhile when he tries to pull the boxes under the couch to get in there, I spray it with white vinegar and he leaves it alone as he hates the smell. Once he leaves the boxes, I reward him with a fibafirst hay stick as a cue that there are yummier things to chew on…

Hi! Not sure if anyone remembers, but I was trying to bond my two 1 year old rabbits, Sage and Chicory, together a few months back. We were going through prebonding but because of some litter box leaks and a pee stain that went through three layers (rubber mat, plastic sheet, and then old rug) and dyed our floor, our schedule got put off. I’ve…[Read more]

<p class=”p3″>Hi all! Iām not sure where to post this, but Iām wondering if anyone has advice on curbing obsessive chewing? As background, I bonded a 3ish year old female rescue bun (Pixie) to my 5 year old lionhead male (Wolfie) this year, and the bond is holding aside from random mounting. They are completely free roam but have a pen as home bas…[Read more]

I think these types of changes are normal as you get into longer sessions! Usually in longer sessions there will be little flurries of activity, and then longer time periods where they seem to ignore each other. This is all normal, and they don’t need to be interacting 100% of the time to be making progress, because choosing to ignore the other…[Read more]

Ah, I see!
I use a big piece of vinyl flooring under my buns’ pens to protect the flooring, maybe something like that would help protect your carpet!
Since you are going to move into bonding a group it might be a bit of a lost cause to try to get their box habits in order now, as they will most definitely lose them again when you start bonding again!
