How big is she? Her blocky head and helicopter ears suggest a Holland lop mix.

It honestly looked like the end of a bone, but she has no issue walking around and gave zero craps when I examined it so I dont think there is any sensitivity

It’s strange that it is just one nail. Does the chewed nail look like a little nub encasing the quick? Sometimes rabbits will catch a nail on the carpet and damage it, but they don’t actually tear it off (so no blood). The damaged part of the nail (the outer portion) will slowly “die” and then fall off, leaving the little nub containing the quick…[Read more]

It’s great that she loves the Critical Care! I think that’s the most important intervention in getting her weight up again, since vegs and greens have very low protein- and calorie-content and hay isn’t really fattening either.

The dosage of Critical Care are calculated on how much a bun of a certain weight needs to consume daily to keep its…[Read more]

My rabbit is 4.5 years old, female. Her brother died last year and in April I bought a new male bunny to be her friend. I got him neutered and they got on well. I did notice over time however that whenever I’d put food down for them, they’d both race like mad to get the food, and they ate really fast (Boo never used to act like that towards foo…[Read more]

She is about 4 or 5, and is freeroam except for when my boyfriend and I arent home. We recently moved so I am still trying to bunny proof everything.

I agree it can be very difficult to find toys that a rabbit likes. My bun uses her treatball and a snuffle mat for her daily pellet ration. She gets fresh apple twigs every day, luckily I have access to pesticide free apple twigs. She’s very good at stripping the bark off of them. I’ve made a blanket digging corner on my couch, she really likes to…[Read more]

Thank you so much! I’ll space out the trimmings a bit more as well. She is chasing and bullying my cat like usual so she doesn’t seem to have any issues lol

It’s uncommon, but some rabbits do chew their nails, for reasons unknown. I will say that biweekly nail trims is pretty frequent, and I wonder if that much attention to the nails may be causing her to attend and chew on them for one reason or another?

I would continue to monitor as you are for any signs that the surrounding skin or nail itself is…[Read more]

Hello! My name is Sierra, and my sweet Californian rabbit is called Dahlia. Dahlia was a rescue, and is about 4 or 5 years old. She is very healthy and is the sassiest furbaby Ive ever had! I was giving her her bi-weekly nail trim when I noticed one of her nails was chewed all the way down! Of course I was worried and looked it over but saw no…[Read more]

Yes, I wish I could afford all that. Actually, I would be able to afford more, but in my house, a nice new willow ball lasts 1-3 days.  And a pile of maple sticks lasts 1 or 2 hours. 😂
