I use a layer of puzzle mats with a sheet of vinyl on top (they are on hard floors so the puzzle mats just add some cushion and insulation). I got mine at Home Depot, they sell it in big rolls and can cut you whatever length you want. I have a vinyl option that textured and somewhat matte (and I think it was around 50 cents a sq ft), so it isn’t…[Read more]

My bunnies Stone and Peach are needing some ideas on flooring.
my old man Ollie (rip❤️) was.. well very old. And he has sufficiently lived on cardboard covered with pee pads and fleece for years now..
these babies are terrorists to carpet. I have layers of blankets cardboard and outdoor rugs down but the male (Stone) tries to eat everything.…[Read more]

I found a product that looks the same on Amazon, it doesn’t say the wood type. It also doesn’t have any reviews!
I’m also confused about the point of the design. I imagine if a rabbit dig dig at it they could catch a toe and possible hurt them selves? There were some similar products from other brands with reviews saying their rabbit mostly just…[Read more]

This is a bit of a tricky case. None of us here are vets and even a normal vet would most likely have difficulties assessing this just from pictures. If the finger itself is swollen there could be some sort of inflammation going on, but the fact that he doesn’t flinch when you touch it and he’s still digging contradicts a recently broken toe. The…[Read more]

No, sometimes bunnies get things like papillomas, which are growths on the surface of the skin. They look somewhat like warts. A bump underneath the skin would suggest something like an abscess or tumor.
Could he have had an injury? Like something poked his toe and it formed a small abscess?

This is the photo — I recognized your post from reddit so stole the picture from there, haha.
Not only since you can’t confirm the wood treatment/type, but also due to what it is, I would just forgo using it. I don’t see rabbits using this kind of scratching board?

Are you able to add the photo to your media files? That should allow you to post it.
A lot of readily available wood is safe for rabbits as long as it’s untreated. However, apricot or peach wood must be dried for a month or more before they are considered safe. Things to avoid would be cedar, cypress, etc.
This website has a good list:…[Read more]

Yes, that looks normal to me as well. Keep in mind that it will look even more concentrated as it starts to dry. Rabbit urine varies a lot… even day to day. It may or may not be caused by something they ate too. So as long as it falls within the range of normal, I wouldn’t worry. Keep up the EC treatment. Hopefully it eventually helps with the…[Read more]

Hmm… it’s hard to tell. Is it a bump underneath the skin? Or is it on top of the skin, like a growth?

Is this on top of the foot or underneath?
Does he react like its painful when you touch it?

BJ is perfect!
Here is Ruby relaxing. She has gone longer than usual getting her nails clipped since I’m going to let the vet do it at her annual check up next week!

That is cute! I’ve seen my rabbits do cycles of drinking/ cleaning/ drinking more but I think it’s because they don’t like the water on their chins, haha.
