Hmmm, to me that video looks like something in his mouth is bothering him. It’s good he’s eating hay though.

He is eating hay though. Since the GI stasis, I had a hard time getting him to eat hay. Now I bought local farm hay and he is eating a good amount. His weight loss issue is making me give him CC.
Now I do not know why he is munching like this.
I have not seen any puking in last 6 hours . SO finger crossed for now.

Rabbits cant puke, but we dont know if theyre capable of feeling nauseous. Its very fortunate that he was able to pass gas in the other direction. A vet can prescribe Reglan (metoclopramide) to suppress nausea and aid gut motility.
Even tiny spurs can stop a bun from eating. I had a bun who had the tiniest sours and my vet didnt think they were…[Read more]

I am giving the link below of his munching video

I am not sure whether it’s choking or coughing. He is also munching in a circular motion like eating something.
He is eating hay ok, drinking water. I saw him taking rest and during that time he looks ok, no…[Read more]

I also wanted to mention, the vet had put Milo on two different antibiotics 1 being Doxycycline and the other being Baytril….. I wonder if Milo was also suffering with cecal dysbiosis or possibly even mega colon, near the end was producing smallish but in large quantity poops… with also these huge poops that I would find in the morning that…[Read more]

Hi! Thank you for the advice, I haven’t noticed any diarrhea this morning, but I also haven’t noticed her having any bowel movements at all. I am planning on taking her to the vet today to make sure everything is okay. Thank you again!

Do you think he could have been choking? Rabbits can’t throw up, but choking is not unheard of. Although I’ve never heard of a bun choking from drinking water. Was it more like a cough? Could he have possibly inhaled some critical care during his last feeding?
A dental issue could cause trouble swallowing, and molar spurs can cause a decrease…[Read more]

Thanks Bam and Dana.
My bunny this morning was acting weird!! It seems like he wants to puke. Then he passed couple of farts(I could hear it) while he was drinking water. Usually, he sleeps in the morning, eats less hay. Last night I gave him extra 5ml CC, total 10 ml. I guess that might be the cause. No change in his hay. no other food. Right…[Read more]

Oh he’s just a baby!
Puberty definitely makes buns super stinky, so things should def calm down once he’s ore grown up and neutered!

BenitoTheBunny replied to the topic Bunny Safe Air Fresheners in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 8 months ago
He’s only 2 months so he’s not neutered yet.
I’ll definitely try out the pine pellet litter! I’ve been using CareFresh & been transitioning him to Oxbow Young Rabbit Pellets for his food. I’m not sure what brand his old food is though, so that may be why!
Thank you for the advice! 😁

Is your bun spayed/neutered? Usually that helps a lot with pee smell!
I’ve also found that pine pellet litter works great for odor control, and is very economical if you buy it in large bags. I’ve also noticed a huge reduction in pee odor once I switched my buns to a higher quality pellet food.

This sounds very stressful, I’m sorry you are going through this. 🙁
Sorry a bunch of questions, but I just think a bit more info will help us give some advise.
You mentioned he was sick since you got him. Do you know how old he is? And can you describe his diet in detail (when he eats on his own)?
Have you gotten a second opinion from another…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Dental malocclusion – is monthly burr cruel? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 8 months ago
I know of a few buns who had their incisors removed due to severe malocclusion (the front teeth were just sticking straight out, not even touching each other). The buns did very well after the incisor removal, but it is important to have a vet experienced with rabbit dentals.
Molar removal is difficult if the teeth are healthy, so is usually only…[Read more]

Hi kikithebun, if her poop was truly watery that sounds like diarrhea, which is a medical emergency. It would be best to get to the vet ASAP if her poops haven’t returned to normal.

Cecal water aka poop juice can occur in anybunny who has some sort of disrupted gut microbiota.
Parsley cilantro dill and mint and basil are all good bun-herbs. Parsley has quite a bit of calcium but you wouldn’t be feeding heaps of it.
You can dry other veg as well, it is true that some buns just do better on dried greens. You can even dry…[Read more]

Hi everyone! This is my first time on the forum, but I was hoping for some advice about my bun. Earlier today, she managed to get into the trash and she was eating out of it. I’m not completely sure what she ate, but as soon as I noticed I took the trash away. I noticed that she was having watery poop, and she was having quite a lot of bowel…[Read more]

I talked to my vet and she mentioned those stains are cecal water. I guess dysbiosis and megacolon bunny get this issue.

Thank you for replying! This is really interesting. I did wonder why he had to go under a general anaesthetic rather than having something that just calms him down, but as you say, it is probably about the risks. I’m going to ask the specialist if there is a more low-key way of keeping him calm enough to do the procedure just in case.
I do agree…[Read more]
