I haven’t seen any drastic hair loss. Only the usual individual fur flying like my other two bunnies. The crust/scab is gone, and she hasn’t grown anything new. She also acts normally. I’m not sure what it was, but I think it’s not serious.

I have three New Zealand bunnies: two girls and a boy. They are all about 4 months old. They are still too young to receive neutering and spaying, so my family and I separated them using X-pens. While I was cleaning one of my girls’ pen, I forgot to close her gate and she jumped into my male’s pen. They hid inside of a wooden tunnel, and I c…[Read more]

I’m looking into the possibility of getting a PB pup.
My biggest concern is that strong terrier temperament and the rabbits. They are in a cage/pen combo, but it would hardly be Pittie proof.
Obviously, stronger puppy training required, but is it doable.

I agree with the others. There is no harm in treating for mites even if the vet couldn’t see any. Revolution or ivermectin would be your best bets. They are safe for rabbits and generally effective. Advantage is safe too, but not effective against certain mites.
Rabbits can take antihistamines. The most common kind that is used is Children’s…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Help with dosage of Ivermectin in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 8 months ago
Ivermectin is considered safe. Medirabbit does address ivermectin use in pregnant mammals here: http://www.medirabbit.com/Safe_medication/Anti_parasitics/Ivermec.htm.
You do want to be careful though. I don’t know what kind you are using, but overdoses happen more often when trying to dose down from a formula meant for a large animal (horse,…[Read more]

Mucus does not necessarily mean there is bacteria. It is a sign of inflammation. The inflammation may or may not be from a bacterial infection. I agree about the poultry feed. That is likely the cause of all of the digestive issues. That stuff is not formulated for rabbits. It has a lot of starch in it, which is not good for rabbits to eat.…[Read more]

Thank you, and you’re welcome ^_^
It’s likely that one of his parents is a Nethie, because of his small size. Besides pygmy rabbits there are few breeds that are below 1,5 kg, so there is some Nethie in there. It does happen that mixes don’t show much of one parent. Owen and Molly are definitely descended from a Nethie mother, but only Molly is…[Read more]

Merry Christmas and Hoppy New Year to everyone on BinkyBunny! I gave my pets their presents on the 23rd instead of the 25th. This is what Paz and Teen (my bunny baby names, lol) got for Christmas!

So basically, they got:
Supreme Science Selective Naturals Country Loops for Rabbit, 2.8 oz.
Supreme Science Selective Naturals Woodland Loops for…[Read more] -

Hi everyone! I have 4 bunnies: Bear (Female, Senior), Sage (Male, 3 years old), Bodhi (Male, 1 year), and Salem (Male, 1 year). Bear and Sage are bonded, but Sage has been a bit more territorial since started the bonding process with all 4, so I wouldn’t say the bond is super strong right now. I don’t know where to start with bonding. Honestly,…[Read more]

His fur is thick and healthy he doesn’t have any patches his skin looks good over all and between his paws. He itches his feet the most.
The litter I use is called ‘Back 2 Nature small animal bedding & litter’ however I swapped this for Timothy hay in hopes that it would help with the itching
His diet is unlimited alfalfa hay, he has a forage…[Read more]

My understanding is that the otter coat color can be bred into a range of different breeds, but I’m not 100% on that!

If it’s been good for 24 hours, he could have had something in his eye (like some hay dust) that was bothering him but that you got out.
I think I would keep his appointment and keep an eye on it for now (no pun intended, lol).

If you can grind up the hay finely that could help!
you can also try offering fresh grass if it’s available in your area (and not sprayed with pesticides or growing by a roadway).

Thank you so much! This was so informative~ 😀
Molly and Owen are beyond cute!! I actually completely agree not a Nethie at all – I ended up looking more into the breeder’s listing and I found some more bunnies (that are from the same mom and dad as our little Booger) and I came across a little baby listed as a Purebred Nertherland with the…[Read more]
