One of my girls Hero *loves* to eat anything rubber – those big rubber doorstop / protector things you find attached to the wall are her favourite. However, she will also go for rubber protectors at the bottom of drying racks as a second option!

I am not sure what breed your rabbits are, but they look very sweet : ) Wish you lots of luck with them, this is a great forum for any questions you have and it has helped me a lot.

Thank you, this is very useful advice!

Yes the new space was ‘semi-neutral’ – Hero had been in there but not to that specific part of the room. We hoovered and removed her items from it before putting them in, but I think you are right this may have affected how the bonding went.

I put them back in the old kitchen zone and much of the tension…[Read more]

Good rule of thumb is stick to what works — I think expanding in the old bonding space where you saw progress is a good idea, rather than rushing into a space and potentially hurting the relationship currently built-up.

This “new space” that you tried and it didn’t work out — is it semi-neutral (i.e., both rabbits have been exposed to it; not…[Read more]

    Hello all,

Hero & Pumpkin are being re-bonded after a long separation following a serious surgery in which Hero had to be alone to recover (she had a tumor removed). They’ve been dating in a neutral area in our small kitchen and are at the stage where they eat together, mutually groom, and loaf together. This took a month or more. Seeing this…[Read more]

So after 2.5 days of syringe feeding her water and her dribbling it out I have tried giving her wet veg which works, very wet DIY critical care (which she eats but she is eating on her own so this isn’t the preferred method for hydration). I tried spiking her water with juice but that didn’t work!

I have been giving her a slice of cucumber a day…[Read more]

Happy New Year! We started a session yesterday afternoon and they really started to click. They napped cuddled together for hours. Since then, Ruby has been much better, the occasional chase and half hearted nip but she has stopped being so aggressive. There is still the eye situation, I’m really hoping it resolves soon but I don’t think it’s too…[Read more]

Aww, poor guy. That’s cute though.  It’s a little hard to tell where his ears are since he’s a lop but they look forward to me and he’s buzzing most of the time so after hearing this I don’t think it was aggressive.

After this I tried to take the advice and just see what happens but it really hasn’t happened again, he tried once more the day…[Read more]

A tiny piece of the papery skin isn’t going to hurt anything. I’m sure your bunny will be fine. Onions are not good for rabbits, but I think a large amount would need to be consumed in order for it to be harmful.

for some reason there were onion skins on my floor, and my bunny found it and ate a little. it was probably the size of a penny at the most, but i’ve read that onions are very toxic to bunnies so im just wondering if that small amount will do anything? im not sure if she even ate the whole piece, i was kinda far away so i wasnt able to take it…[Read more]

    Dana,

I told my husband “I betcha he was busy smelling the mini’s and Scout was in his blind spot” because she approached from the front. Smudge really is the sweetest so I know he doesn’t mean it. That little baby doesn’t even tug treats out of my hand like the other 3 will do. I don’t expect my mini’s bond to break since it’s so well-forged and…[Read more]

Thanks for your repsonse! I have seen fur pulling but also gromming in between. They are outside so I an not sure if anything else is going on when I am not there but I haven’t seen any signs of it other than fur on the ground. Do you think I should separate them? And if so should I separate the targeted rabbit (Fern) away from the other two? Will…[Read more]
