For a girl, most vets want the bun to be at least 6 months, because before that the structures they’re removing are so tiny they can be difficult to find without poking around too much.

One of my bunnies won’t let you touch him, he runs for treats and jumps on us and all, it’s just the way he is. My other bunny only lets things on her terms and will lunge and nip if she doesn’t want to be pet, and forget about being picked up. My bunnies aren’t afraid of me, it’s just the way they are. I agree with Glenn, most buns do fine without anything, especially boy buns. A neuter of a young healthy boy is a minimally invasive and quick procedure.

3 months seems pretty young to me but I think it actually depends on size, there is a minimum weight which I can’t remember now but my bun was not neutered till about 7 months old because he simply did not weigh enough.
