Thank you, Dana. Rascal seems to be doing okay. The first day was tough – he ran a couple of laps in the pen area looking for her. Now he occasionally goes to rest in the corner she claimed during these last three weeks. I’m relieved he’s still eating, pooping, and sleeping the same. I think he misses his sister but we’re spoiling him with extra…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Stopped eating pellets and greens, but is still eating hay? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 7 months ago
Small poop will result if a bun hasn’t been eating properly before. Black poop tend to signify too little fiber – which is to be expected of course, if she’s not been eating much. The fact that there is poop is great though, it means stuff is moving through.

Thank you for your response!
She has been eating this evening. I gave her a leaf of lettuce and, with a little prompting on my part, she ate the whole thing. A little while later, I scattered their pellets everywhere and she joined in along with the others in eating them, too. Though she did stop eating sooner than she would have, and went to sit…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic My rabbit ate a big rubber band and I need help in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 7 months ago
This happens surprisingly often and 99% of the time, the bunny is just fine. The good thing about bunnies is that they chew stuff thoroughly when they eat it. So it’s unlikely there is a long piece of rubber band in there. I would monitor her for now. Push hay and water. This will help it pass.

Hi, Iβm quite new to this page but Iβm in desperate help of knowing if I should take my rabbit to the vet or not. So my bunny is a mini rex and recently Iβve been using litter liners to help contain her litter but ofc the usual ones I buy were out of stock so I ended up buying these jumbo liners and tried tying off the excess amount w a huge rubbe…[Read more]

As LBJ says, there is a delay. It’s normal! Just keep a close eye. and I think you’ll see poop soon!

As with humans, the value of a multivitamin for rabbits is debatable. That being said, I don’t think they necessarily hurt anything. I don’t use Oxbow’s multivitamin, but I do use their joint supplement.

There will always be a delay with the poop. They poop less when they are lounging and sleeping. When they become active again and eat more, the poop doesn’t just magically appear the second they are eating something. It needs time to make its way out.

OMG, she is darling! I agree with Bam. I would not worry about her behavior at this point. Her body will need time to adjust to the changes. This can take several weeks. At that point, she should return to her normal personality… minus any hormone-driven behaviors, of course.

The sooner the better. This will ensure the problem doesn’t progress and she can simply go back to eating normally once the problem is resolved. I would monitor her in the meantime. If she is still eating, then you should be OK. If you notice a decline, then you can supplement with Critical Care (or pellet mash).
