After watching the video, I think the others are right. It could be the grit from the pellets is touching ulcers on his cheek or tongue and he is reacting to it.

She looks like an English lop or English lop mix. They are fairly big, weighing over 10 lbs. Their ears keep growing until 5-6 months of age. You’ll want to be careful with her ears since they can be accidentally injured.
You will want a good-sized enclosure for her. As Wick said, this can be accomplished relatively inexpensively with dog pens.

With exception of giant breeds, all rabbits regardless of size require the same spacious enclosure. One recommendation is 12sqft on rest area and daily access to a larger free-roam area for exercise. This is usually achieved by purchasing and setting up 1 large xpen in a rabbit-proofed room.
For giant breeds, an expanded xpen or 2 xpens would…[Read more]

Her feet are bigger than my thumb and her fur is extremely soft. It doesn’t go back when you brush her hair in the opposite direction it just stays put. She’s not full grown of course. im not sure how old she is since I just rescued her from being given away as an Easter prize to little kids. Im trying to figure…[Read more] -

Yes, those are bugs that infest dry carb-rich products like rice, flour, crackers and starches. They leave very thin cobwebs in places that they infest.
They’re my worst nightmare, because I have coeliac disease and I have about €400 worth of medical food in my pantry 😯
These bugs can eat through plastic bags and may have gotten into it w…[Read more]

You’ve gotten excellent advice from others already, I just want to chime in about the fresh grass. My bun Bam wouldn’t eat hay like he should, so his vet recommended daily fresh grass. He had the beginning of molar spurs, but the fresh grass took care of that, so he passed his next health check with flying colors.

I think it’s wise to start with having his teeth examined. Ulcers on the side of the tongue or the insides of cheeks could probably explain the weird pain reaction he has.
My Vilde ate hay voraciously and had big beautiful poops until one day when he just stopped eating. He was just a few weeks from turning 7. It turned out he had horrible teeth…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic How to set up a rabbit cage in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 4 months ago
There are a lot of similarities with buns and piggies, but some key differences. It used to be common for guineas and rabbits to even be housed together, but they have different flooring requirements and guinea pigs can carry respiratory infections that rabbits can get, so that’s not recommended anymore.
I know there can be an overwhelming amount…[Read more]

That Tyvelse really surprised me, because it’s a short-pile rug but still really soft. Normally people advise against synthetic short-pile rugs, but it doesn’t seem to cause irritation.
I tested the rugs at IKEA by sliding the inside of my wrist across the carpet really roughly. (With, against and across the direction of the pile). “If we get rug…[Read more]

Oooh thanks! That Tyvelse one looks gorgeous, I wonder if it’s available in the US?
And I actually have a few of those Toftlund rugs already! Myra would just avoids them, LOL! What is up with buns just avoiding all the soft things we put down for them? I swear my buns run in the gaps between the rugs.

I’ve never had a guinea pig, but cages are only appropriate for rabbits as a “home base”. They need a lot of room to run and play and shouldn’t be confined in small spaces. Putting a large cage in an ex pen and allowing the bunny out for multiple hours each day for play time is acceptable as long as the rabbit isn’t locked in the cage and has…[Read more]

Personally, my next steps would be to try a car ride and/or a very large bonding area. For car rides, have someone else drive, get the car running and ready. I like to use a large plastic tub, rather than a carrier. Have you leather gloves on, pop the buns in the bin, and go for a drive. Most buns will not fight in the car, but sit in the back…[Read more]

I agree on no alfalfa. But I think offering a variety of different grass hays would be great, and oat hay is great. My buns looooove the oat hay from BB. It’s my go-too whenever I want a bun to eat more hay, I give them a few handfuls a day when I have it. And I think giving fresh grass is also fine and good to do. Other really fibrous herbs are…[Read more]
