DanaNM replied to the topic Why won’t my bunnies use their litter box in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 4 months ago
How old are they? It sounds like they have hit puberty! Young rabbits often use a box fine, but when they start getting their hormones litter box habits go out the window.
You should plan to get them neutered, and box habits will return. Here’s some more basic info on litter box training:…[Read more]

Hello!
i have two male bunnies that are fairly young. When we purchased them, we were told they would use a little box.
Well, they don’t! What can I do to get them trained? They literally mess their cage up every single day.
i have a litter box with hay in it. -

The same company (Protexin) that makes Fibreplex also makes a maintenance pellet food that has the same probiotic as Fibreplex. It’s called Pro-Fibre for rabbits. I’ve used it, my buns have all found it very yummy.

DanaNM replied to the topic HELP! Only 2 of 3 of my rabbits are bonded in the forum BONDING 4 years, 4 months ago
This is how you end up with 4 rabbits (like me! lol).
So, I would just treat Skittles and Loki as your bonded pair, and stop having Loki interact with Luci face to face. Since it’s pretty clear the girls are not compatible and a trio wont work, there’s no real point to having them interact regularly.
In my experience, F-F pairs are tough. There…[Read more]

I’m sorry for your loss. 🙁
So, are they bonded yet? Or still in the bonding phases? If you’re currently in the process of bonding them (doing dating, side swaps, etc.) then I would pause all of that until he is healthy again. He may need a longer period of just living side by side with Squirrel as a neighbor to adjust to the change.
Bonding can…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic is this a safe brand? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 4 months ago
I don’t recognize the brand but as long as it’s just hay and it smells fresh then it should be fine!

Leafy greens could be OK, but some buns are sensitive to certain ones. Many buns tolerate dried greens better, such as dried dandelion, which you can find online.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Respiratory infection? Should I be worried? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 4 months ago
If he is not showing any signs of breathing difficulty and the nasal discharge is very minimal and clear, in addition to normal breathing sounds, appetite, poop, energy, etc., then you can probably just monitor for now– however, if anything observed worsens, then yes you need to go to a rabbit savvy vet. The earlier medication is started for…[Read more]

He did pull through and is eating and pooping well 🙂
I’ve never had bunnies as young as they are, and it’s a lot of work to keep them safe. They have so much energy and want to explore everything. You can try to bunny-proof everything, but they’ll still find a way to get into trouble.
To be really honest: I actually wanted an older bunny,…[Read more]

Hi everyone, I noticed a few days ago that my 2.5 year old Lionhead’s nose was a bit damp. The discharge was just clear and I could just see it right under his nose. This morning, I saw more of the clear discharge. He is eating, drinking, and pooping normally. I do feel like he is laying down more and he is breathing slightly faster, but it d…[Read more]

Thank you everyone for your thoughts about my Nanna 🙂
Cute bunny Easter supplies! Fortunately I didn’t have any money to spend this year, lol.
Ellie, I hope Owen came through his tie-wrap eating episode ok. Bunnies get into the silliest things.
I have been having major “new pet needs” recently. At least that’s what I’m calling it. I’ve been…[Read more]

No luck with the training or treating after medicating yet. However I tried a different approach this evening, instead of wrapping him in a towel, I just held him against my body sitting upright on his rump with his back feet facing forward. This actually worked a lot better. He still struggled, but nowhere near as much and he wasn’t as twitchy. I…[Read more]

Yes that’s normal. My Luna is only 7 and 1/2 but she does have heart and kidney problems. She often sleeps in very contorted positions that you wouldn’t normally expect to see except from a live rabbit. So it’s always a little scary.

Yes, this is normal. They are old, they are going to be tired. And yes, sometimes that results in dead bunny flop naps.
