And yes, pressing the belly against the floor is a typical sign of gas. Many buns get gassy when the molt. Gas is a consequence of a gut slowdown.

Thank you so much for your really helpful reply! 🙂 yes, I am planning on taking her to the vet on Saturday to let them have a better look. She did quite well when she was sedated during her spaying according to the vet and bounced back quite quickly too – so that gives me a bit of confidence!

Yes this is the thing i meant! She gets gassy from ingesting fur, because after i gave somethicone she went to litter box and there was fur in her droppings.

Yes, pressing their belly to the floor is a sign of gas pain. Simethicone is for gas. It certainly doesn’t hurt anything and if your bunny is getting gassy from ingesting fur, then I don’t see any harm in giving some during a molt. If it helps, great!

Yes, I do think it is because of her molting and not anything you did. To be perfectly honest, some bunnies don’t really care if you’re there or not.
