Hello, I noticed today that his ear was dropped on one side. I read it could be an ear infection? I noticed him scratching that ear in particular while videoing him to upload it here. If he did have an ear infection what could I do to help him? Since I dont have a job im not sure how likely it is I could get him to a vet. Is there any medication I…[Read more]

I haven’t noticed any molting, but he might be starting to from under his bottom and belly and I just have seen it yet.

Thanks so much for the reassurance. We’ve gone through stasis twice before (one required a trip to an ER 2 hours away on a weekend). Both times he had the characteristic signs.
If anything, he’s been even more energetic than usual and is totally ticked off that we took his pellets and regular treats. Such a spoiled little imp. 🙄 Stress may…[Read more]

Also didnt mention but now that I think of it maybe i should…
lately Harchie is acting very horny. Yep… a neutered male rabbit! When we wanted to bond him to our other male (also neutered) named Max years ago, he would hump him and Max was terrified. We wrote it off as a dominance thing and decided better they not be friends! LoL.
Well…[Read more]

He has never had EC. No other symptoms like head tilt, leg paralysis, etc.
It’s blood test to check correct? For the titer right? But i heard if its negative, its negative but if its positive it doesnt necessarily mean positive?
I would only worry can the treatment fenbendazole cause issues like with bone marrow in case he doesnt have EC?

Does he have a history of EC? When you think of kidney issues in rabbits, you tend to think EC first. There are treatments for kidney disease. @Azerane has some recent experience with this.

Hi everyone,
I am hoping for some help regarding my rabbit Harchie. He is over 9 years old (we dont know his exact age as he was adopted). He is a very funny guy with tons of attitude and likes to talk (grunt!) to show you he is boss. He has one eye because when they found him it was super infected and they had to remove it so the infection…[Read more]

Hi, thank you so much! Regarding Gideon’s body language because that’ll be the quickest thing to respond to: it seems that none of my bunnies are very good with body language?? I mostly get worried because sometimes he goes into what I’ve started calling “torpedo form” — ears not quite pinned back, but noticeably angled pretty far backwards, but…[Read more]

Thank you both for these responses!
Bam — She was allegedly spayed before I got her, but I was thinking the same thing about a botched spay. It was very reassuring that you made this point, though, as most of the people I’ve talked to seemed entirely unconvinced of this possibility since there apparently is a low but nonzero chance of a spayed…[Read more]

Is he by chance molting? Sometimes we get small poos during a molt but thankfully it keeps moving and they keep eating.

I bought scales today for my own peace of mind so I can keep an eye on her weight going forward and since last Saturday she’s gone up to 2.3kg! 🙂

So sorry to hear that you’ve been going through so much stress – can definitely relate with you! In my experience, gut stasis is very characteristic as the bun just won’t eat anything at all and is very quiet. As long as they are eating – and are behaving as usual, they should be fine. Even small bouts of stress can cause small poops in rab…[Read more]

Hi all! Last week (Tuesday night) I noticed that all the sudden my Luna’s poops were much smaller than normal. I took him to our vet the next day to get him checked out and while she said that the smaller poops were concerning and that it could be the beginning of stasis, there was nothing else to indicate any issues (no indication of pain, X…[Read more]

Do I gradually change her pellets to a higher fibre one after the 6months-ish mark or keep her on the science selective junior ones for the whole first year?

Bam replied to the topic Tips for moving bunny to new location? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 4 months ago
Setting up an x pen at first is a wise move! That will help her feel secure, at the same time as she gets acquainted with the smells and sounds and looks of her new surroundings. She will also use her litterbox better if she starts out with a smaller area than a whole floor of a house.
She will need more than one litterbox once she gets to roam…[Read more]

Hello everyone,
I am planning on moving my rabbit from a singular room to the entire floor downstairs! 😀 She has been living in that room for a year now, so I am unsure how I can easily transition her from there to an entirely new place. Do you have any tips for moving a rabbit within a house? I am assuming I will need to set up an x-pen…[Read more]

My bunny loves everything cardboard. I also try to get him a lot of engagement toys, so stuff that I can hide his daily veggies inside works really well (cardboard tubes, amazon gift bag, small boxes, etc). He feels really proud of himself when he finds a snack, and he likes it when I watch him run around and forage for his veggies. I also got him…[Read more]
