The vet said he’s probably around 7 months old, and also found the scars from the neutering; and I’ve never seen his bunny balls. I adopted him from a shelter (who also said he was neutered). However, I have no clue when he was neutered. He was abandoned at the shelter without any information.

Hi there,
As the title suggests, I thought I’d throw a post up here to see if anyone had any cool toys or habitat ideas, that may not be something one could just Google.
My rabbits have plenty of toys and they go through them regularly, which is good. But I seem to always see adverts and videos for cool toys for cats and dogs, but hardly any for…[Read more]

Hi everyone I wanted to share a story and maybe seek advice. In October of last year my male bunny got really sick on Sunday morning and had to rush to an emergency vet that is an hour away from me, the vet suggested he stay here and i left him with his sister as well so both of my bunnies were gone till Monday at 7 AM. I got a call Monday around…[Read more]

Hi all, posting with a lil’ problem & have no clue if this is the right area again or not. <:’)
I have a female house rabbit turning 5(!!!) later this month. Me & my Mum have noticed some weird going-ons with her as of late– She’s been catching her back legs when she’s been hopping in & out of her cage (She has roam of the house for the day, she…[Read more]

Yep, just make sure the puzzle can be opened with maneuvers that a bunny can physically do. I had a dog puzzle toy that had a drawer that could be pulled out, a flap that could be nosed upward to open, etc.

It’s always too soon. I miss him. It’s always odd once they pass just how much of an impact they had on your day to day life. Even something as small as a hedgehog.

Static was a bossy grumpy hog. But I absolutely loved his cranky butt. I’ve had hedgie’s for around 10 years but he is the first to make it to 6 years old. His vets were even shocked that he didn’t end up with a mouth tumor (the most common cause of death in hedgehogs), that he wasn’t overweight, and still had his teeth at 6. I think it was…[Read more]

Tater is really active. But since bonding with Spud and finding out he can steal Spuds pellets he’s packed on a few pounds.

It doesn’t make it easier, unfortunately. But I’m glad I got 6 years with him when the average hedgie lives to 3-4. He was a cranky little dude but I loved it.

Believe it or not, today is Dory’s 6th gotcha day!!! How time flies… (bad bird pun). We’ve had plenty of ups and downs with her, but she’s still keeping busy destroying toys, making a mess, talking the house down and making noises that are too loud for my ears! Since we moved last year the layout of the house is actually much better for me to…[Read more]

How old is he? Did you adopt him from a rescue?
Thirdly, how did the vet confirm he was neutered? Was it simply looking for testicles and not seeing them? Rabbits can draw them in to hide in a sort of little pouch of skin, especially when they feel scared or threatened such as at a vet visit. To find them when they’re like that you sort of need…[Read more]

I personally don’t know much about soft cut hay or Haybox, but my only thought would be is that if it’s a very soft hay that it might not be particularly abrasive for their teeth which they need to keep them well worn. But again, I’m not too familiar with soft cut hays as we don’t really have any here.

Luna has one of these. When I adopted her almost six years ago she had it and it stayed the same size for a long time. Eventually early last year when she did present with E. cuniculi the spot had grown quite substantially in size. I was told by my vet that the spots can be present in rabbits that are carrying E. cuniculi but not necessarily…[Read more]

I love hedgies! I had one many years ago. I’m sorry for your loss Sonn. That was a really good age though… but I know it doesn’t make it hurt any less.
I’m very glad to hear the boys are doing better. It’s just sad that it took them so long to figure out what was wrong with Tater Tot. He probably wouldn’t have had to stay at the vet so long had…[Read more]

Hi,
I bought sample boxes from Haybox and my rabbit he went straight to the soft cut timothy hay box and even when i mixed the box around he still went back to that one.
I just wondered if anyone has tried HayBox and recommend going for the Blended one so its best of both worlds? Or just buy 10kg of the soft cut as i know he went for that…[Read more]

From what I can see, I will agree with Wick on this one. It looks like an “atypical” partial heterochromia, where there is just a little section of blue and the rest of the iris is brown. The gene responsible for this is called the Vienna gene. Two copies gives you a BEW. Only one copy produces a rabbit with varying degrees of white (sometimes…[Read more]
