Hey everyone, it’s a wonderful day in May, welcome to the May chat! We enjoyed the lovely weather and went shopping for bunny toys today. We bought large willow chew toys, which Owen seems to love. I got a lot of exercise with my wheelchair ^_^ We also had a successful bonding date. This is so heartening!
We always thought that the lawn behind…[Read more]

It sounds lovely!
It wouldnt be so far-fetched to think that the city environment is more stressful for buns – in a city there’s always noise and nights are never completely dark. It doesnt sound like it’d be about space -more some sort of 24/7 city energy?
If your buns were young while you were living in the city, the move to the cottage could…[Read more]

Hello bunny community!
We have recently moved from a city flat to a lovely cottage in the countryside and I have noticed quite a change in my bunnies’ behaviour!
In the flat, my rabbits were incredibly active and destroyed almost all carpet or furniture that they could lay their eyes upon. We even made them cardboard box forts that they shredded…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic My bun has cancer, can CBD oil help? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 3 months ago
CBD oil probably wont hurt. It can be used in buns, but I dont know the proper dosage.
Does your vet think the cancer has spread? If it hasnt, she could be cured by the removal of the primary tumor.

If you don’t want digging in the litter box, I would suggest using a litter screen to keep the litter in place. As for the hay, could you use a hay rack? If you design it so they cannot get inside, but only pull a little hay out at a time, then it would be harder to string all over the place. Ideally, the hay rack would only be accessible from…[Read more]

My Sarafina
had a growth near her back leg, it was removed and found to be malignant. She is doing well, eating, drinking and pooping normal. After talking with the vet chemo is not an option. Wondering if anyone has used CBD oil to treat cancer in rabbits, I used for my dog who had bladder cancer and extended his life over year. Hoping to help bun

Hey everyone,
So for the past week my 2 year old spayed Holland lop has decided she wants to dig in her litter (which is fine I have a large, tall litter box) but my issue is recently she’s started flicking out all the hay into piles on the carpet and makes a huge mess. On top of that it encourages Bernard (8 month old male Holland lop) to u…[Read more]

Thank you for everyone’s reply. There’s so much about rabbit anatomy that I still need to learn. All responses were logical and informative and gave me peace of mind. The vet is allegedly rabbit-savvy but I may look for a different one.
He’s doing just fine so no damage done! 🙂

Hind leg weakness can also be a symptom of E. cuniculi. Worth considering as a possible cause.

When you just got out of the animal hospital and your human is already testing your patience by trying to get you over your fear of strawberries.
Pay no mind to the disaster box as I call it. They love that box and I don’t have the heart to throw it out yet. Lol.

Could she clear it just fine before? Since she is 5, she could have a little bit of arthritis developing.

I agree, I wouldn’t use pineapple juice. There are digestive supplements with papaya available that would be less sugary. Oxbow makes one. There is debate about whether or not it is actually effective. But a supplement formulated for small animals certainly isn’t going to hurt anything.
