    Yes, especially cooked. So tasty!

The person below me has a pet that’s not a rabbit.

Well I’m going to get laughed at for explaining my “winter” lol. Winter in Australia really varies quite greatly depending which end of the island you’re on. For us the nights are commonly between 0-5 degrees Celsius, although I think between 5-10 is probably more average. Not every year but some years we get below freezing on a few nights.…[Read more]

The topic of intentional breeding is prohibited on these forums, which includes willingly allowing such things to happen when it is in your control not to. For both rabbits’ safety, yes, you should separate them, in addition to eliminating the risk of pregnancy.

What you have is a baby bond. Baby bonds are not true bonds — they are a natural…[Read more]

I have an unneutered buck and unspayed doe (both young, healthy adults) that are best friends and have been housed together for about a month now. I’ve read recently that this is a really bad idea because of the likelihood of fighting or constant reproduction. I obviously understand that my doe is likely to become pregnant and am prepared for that…[Read more]

You are most definitely right! My parents should have kept it where it was but they decided to take it in because they thought it wouldn’t survive on it’s own.. but unfortunately it died an hour ago 😞

Yes, please define this “winter” that occurs in Australia.

OMG, it has been SO hot here. In the 90s!

Yes, what kind of bunny is it and how old?

As Dana said, wild cottontails do not do well in captivity. Very few that are hand-reared make it to adulthood, even with experienced rehabbers. If it has fur and its eyes are open, then it could just be a young bunny leaving the nest. You should return it to where you found it. If it is a newborn, then…[Read more]

I always like to think I give the best care possible. Bit of an ego boost when vets comment on their health especially when they get old. I miss him but I know he had a good life.

Potato boys are completely back to normal. Setting them up a catio type deal so they can hang out on my porch with me whenever they want. Lanlord hates it I told her…[Read more]

Sounds like a great breakthrough Ellie!

I thought we were in real spring finally, but apparently it was our third false spring because it’s been cold and raining all week! Things are blooming and starting to grow but it’s been very slow to warm up this year compared to last year!

My four got their Medgene booster today, I’m so relieved that’s…[Read more]

Whew! What a relief!! And so good they were able to check! That really explains everything!

And yes I bet the rescue will help you out, they will probably be very embarrassed that they adopted out an un-neutered rabbit!

Is it a wild bunny or domestic?

Here is an article that should have some useful info. What to do depends a lot on how old it is and whether it’s wild or not.

    http://www.mybunny.org/info/caring-for-newborn-baby-rabbits/

If it is wild, it cannot be kept as a pet. It’s illegal in many places, and importantly wild rabbits often die from the stress…[Read more]

hello!! I recently found an abandoned baby bunny outside. I read online that we should have left it alone but my mom was worried so we took it in. The thing is we don’t know what to do with it?? Should we take it to the vet or something? What should we feed it? And more importantly!!! Can we keep it as a pet?

Sorry for you losing your Hedgie. I sometimes think the longer we have with them the harder it gets. But 6 years means he got some good care!

I am happy the potato boys are both good!

    UPDATE:  He’s not neutered!!!

He’d had them receded the past two times, and he receded them almost immediately after the vet saw them today. We’re looking into getting him neutered, but it’s a relief that we know what’s been going on with him, and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m also super happy because neutered bunnies are ap…[Read more]
