Yeah, I would have him checked first before concluding that he is just being picky. If he wasn’t a big hay eater to begin with, then it could have caused uneven wear on his teeth.

Poor Apollo. Bunnies can be difficult to medicate sometimes. I feel your pain! Once you get a routine down though, they often just settle into it. Does he accept a treat afterward? That usually helps if they are expecting to be rewarded.

If he’s due for a check up anyway, then I don’t see the harm in having bloodwork done. Then they can do the EC test at the same time.

Toilet paper tubes are a great one. Baby toys can also be good (liek those baby keys) as they are mostly rabbit safe and easy to disinfect.
Another great thing is to make a paper mat. I used to have a link to instructions but it’s not working anymore! Basically you take a newspaper, fold each sheet lengthwise several times so it’s about 2 inches…[Read more]

These are all really good points. He is due for a check up anyway, but he HATES the vet so much I’ve been dragging my feet on it. It’s been worse with not being able to go into the vet with him, so I’m hoping that now they might let me come in. That and I’m still in the trust-building phase with his new vet.
I don’t think he’s actually ever had…[Read more]

Hmmm, is it possible he’s having a dental issue? The fact that this is a sudden issue makes me wonder if there’s a health issue going on.

For fleas, you can use food grade diatomaceous earth as long as the bun is not in direct contact with it. I would put the bun in another room, sprinkle the diatomaceous earth around (wear an N95 mask when you do this), and then vacuum it up. It’s not toxic but can be irritating if the dust is inhaled.
As for cleaning floors, a 10% white vinegar…[Read more]

The honking is normal!
I don’t think you need to worry, this still sounds within the range of normal for bonding sessions. Anytime you change up the location (or even the time of day) the dynamic in the bonding session can be a bit different. Bonding often has steps forward and back. If you feel they are really back-tracking I would try going…[Read more]

I’m not sure about changes because I haven’t tried feeding him pellets again yet. The trouble eating pellets is the only symptom I can see myself. Last time the vet told me to wait 5 days before trying pellets again, this time has already been 7 days but I was considering waiting a few extra days to allow more time for healing, especially since…[Read more]

He will be 1 in July. I am having a terrible time with this little bugger just now, he wasn’t a big hay eater anyway but would eat it he would eat dried grass. For about a week and a bit it has been a fight to get home to eat anything other than pellets (1egg cup a day) greens and forage he eats that all fine. I have tried all different kinds of h…[Read more]

Happy to hear that, bunnies can put up a mean fight if they really don’t want something.
Do you see any change yet?

Apollo seems to have resigned himself to his fate. He still twitches and squirms a little, but nothing like before. It probably helps that he’s only getting one dose a day rather than 3 as well. Who knows if his slightly better behaviour will last, but I can only hope.
He did pee on the table a couple days ago, but that’s my fault for pulling him…[Read more]

Is he on anti inflammatory meds at all? That would be helping with both age related ailments but also EC if he happen to have active infection. If ex causing some recent issues, at least so thing like metacam would begin treatment.
Is the test they do now more accurate? PCR test right?
I would have convo with vet about how older buns like him go…[Read more] -
