Thanks for your advice! I get hay from chewy so I don’t have to worry about getting a different hay, we also are only moving 20 minutes away!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>They gave us metacam but it tends to upset her tummy and makes her eat less so we usually give it to her for 3-4 days max. She didn’t seem to be in pain at all, if anything she was more energetic than usual. The vet told us to watch if she seems off. If she does they said we can try a smaller dose.</p>

If she eats the pellets well, can you feed more? Sherwood has a pellet that is just Timothy (with vit/min).
It’s made for buns who aren’t big hay eaters.

You have both made me feel better about it, thanks. Everyone has calmed down from the panic now… Although it seems like the bunnies were un-phased anyway so it’s really just me that needed to calm down lol, they have just gone about their day as normal since, so there doesn’t appear to be any lasting grudes.
Ellie my boyfriend is the same,…[Read more]

I second Dana, he’ll be fine! If he has his own stuff that smells of him, hidey houses, perhaps tunnels (cat tunnels or f ex cardboard concrete-casting tubes) plus his humans, he’ll most likely transition just fine. You will bring your scents and voices and stuff i e all the things that constitute “home”.

Hmm, did they give you any pain meds? Sometimes just noticing if there’s an improvement with pain meds is informative.
Baytril is a safe antibiotic to use in rabbits, but I’m not too familiar with its use in bladder lining issues.
For bladder sludge, encouraging hydration and movement can help. Some bunnies need to have their bladders flushed…[Read more]

I’m sure he will be just fine!
I’ve moved several times recently with my rabbits, once cross country! They all did wonderfully.
Best thing is not to wash his blankets or anything right before the move. You can even keep a small amount of dirty litter in his litter box. When you get to the new place, let him hang out in his carrier for 30 min or…[Read more]

Hello, every bunny! I own a 1.5-year-old Netherland dwarf rabbit! We are going to be moving to a farm soon, he will still be kept inside. He’s a pretty confident little bunny and loves to explore all over our house but I’m worried the move will stress him out. I would really appreciate it if anyone could share any advice they have! He has a hutch…[Read more]

The vet called us with the results. Apparently there was some issue with clotting because it was hard to get blood from our bunny. Everything seems to be normal but something related to the liver was elevated. They’ll run more tests on that. Kidneys are ok. We’ll know more tomorrow. Her urine has some sludge/crystals. The vet found no bacteria.…[Read more]

That’s an interesting mix of bloodlines! It’s fascinating how America is one big melting pot of cultures and ethnicities.
If you want to learn Gaelic I wouldn’t recommend Duolingo. It tries to teach you the language in a playful way, but it gives almost no background info about pronunciation rules etc. Videos on YouTube and language websites are…[Read more]

Yay, Owen seems to have found her rear! I’ve seen him mount on the proper side a couple of times yesterday. I still have to keep an eye on him though, because he doesn’t seem to stop on his own. I was taking some pictures and suddenly I noticed that he’d been on her for a minute already. At least she stays still when he mounts like…[Read more]

Yes, tell me about it! I woke up several times to the sound of thumping feet and scrabbling nails. I could hear them chase each other from the other side of the house. Bas was in front of a computer screen, so naturally: he completely missed it while being in the same room… 🙄

@Azerane I make my cat’s food as well, and something must have been off with the most recent batch of mine too because my cat Toby has been having some pooping trouble!
The only thing different is I left out the eggs this time, but they are optional and I know I’ve skipped them before… I can’t figure out if it was a batch issue or he just is…[Read more]

That is awesome! I wanna learn Irish Gaelic and Scottish Gaelic since I have Irish and Scottish in my mom’s side of the family (as well as English, Welsh, German, Sioux and Black Foot) and I wanna learn sign language. DanaNM replied to the topic Bonding help needed! in the forum BONDING 4 years, 2 months ago
I think this is likely because you moved a bit too fast in the bonding process. That much mounting isn’t normal, as it’s interfeering with her eating and drinking, etc.
Can you move them back to a neutral place and work with them a bit more there? It may also be necessary to separate them for periods of the day to allow Dolly to eat and rest.

DanaNM replied to the topic Glenn and Nellie in the forum BONDING 4 years, 2 months ago
Haha! Things happen!
But great they didn’t fight! Definitely a good sign for future dates in neutral territory! If you didn’t find the room full of fur tufts then I’m sure nothing bad happened. If they had fought you would have also heard them… bunnies tussling make a ton of noise!
