Hi everyone! I just realized that I’ve been using a jar of Jif peanut butter that was a part of the batch that was recalled in the US for potential salmonella contamination. I have been having some gastrointestinal upset- but no vomiting or fever and I feel fine. If I did end up having salmonella, would my bunny be at risk at all? Is it common f…[Read more]

Im looking for some advice on bonding my rabbits. We got a girl bun about 2 months ago and she quickly became free roam. About 3 weeks later we brought a boy bun home. We were lead to believe that it would be easier to bond them and unfortunately did not do enough research. At first our female was being territorial chasing etc but the boy always…[Read more]

Having a sick bun is truly exhausting. 🙁 When I was caring for a chronically ill foster, it helped me to have a schedule, so I wasn’t just constantly fussing over him. It was still a lot, but generally making sure you get some food into them every 6 hours (during the day) is enough, and then it is important to sleep at night, so I would just do…[Read more]

BZOO and Dana, thank you I’ll look into it! She is eating pellets though slowly so that will definitely be an option for us!
She does not have visible dental problems. We had her checked three times during this couple months. Her liver number is a little elevated but I overfed her a little on Meloxicam one day and we are hoping that it will come…[Read more]

So, this is tricky. One possibility is that they may not have stable bond currently because Sage isn’t spayed, or even if they do, her hormone fluctuations post-spay could trigger fighting. But I’ve also seen cases like this where the buns go right back together no problem.
How do they behave together now? Do you ever see excessive mounting,…[Read more]

Looks good to me! Usually the difference in how coarse it is has to do with which cut of the hay it was. As long as he’s eating it though it’s fine!

I tried Apollo on pellets for the first time again this evening. He seemed a little hesitant but didn’t have any problems eating them.
Today is day 10 of the antibiotics, I’m considering doing a countdown to 60 days. So the next time I’ll wait 9 days, then 8 days, and so on. In the end it will mean he’ll get pellets 6 days in a row for the last 6…[Read more]

Hello everybunny, I ran out of hay and had to get a new brand! It was the only Timothy hay the store had. I was wondering if anyone knows of this brand and if it’s alright to use. I can order our normal kind if it’s not. It seems a bit more sticky (harder pieces of hay, more stick like) and he doesn’t seem to like it as much as he likes the other…[Read more]

Hi. I have two lops. They have been bonded since November. The male Paisley is neutered and has been since he was introduced to the intact female Sage. Sage is getting spayed in July. I heard sometimes rabbits need to be rebonded after being spayed or neutered. I heard sometimes the pair will turn on each other after surgery. Either the newly…[Read more]
