I think she had early symptoms of GI stasis, i took her to the vet they gave her some liquid injection and later that day she started pooping more and now her appetite is getting better and she’s getting more active, not like she used to be before this happened but i think she’s recovering pretty well.

Grooming days and classes are good ways to bring in money, in addition to displaying merchandise to sell as well during those events.

Hello everyone! I volunteer at Midwest Rabbit Rescue & Re-Home. We are currently having a Bunny Money Challenge on Facebook that’s been doing quite well. We are in need of some fundraising ideas for the near future. Does anyone have any unique ideas that have worked for them? Any ideas or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Have a hoppy day!

Do you mean like when a bun is straining to pee?

They hunch up when theyre about to eat their cecals, which is normal. A bun that has a UTI often dribbles pee, pees outside the box, t3ies to pees often and the result is very small amounts of pee or none at all.

Dana, no she does not always have the weird shaped poop. Only when she is sick that her poops are oddly shaped but IV helps her get fluid and her poop would become round again though sometimes small. And the vet does not think that she has megacolon.

We were supposed to get her liver number again but this past week i got covid and Kotton went…[Read more]

Hey! I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of a hunched bunny, while they’re peeing? I tried looking on Google, but couldn’t find any. Thank you! <3

Thank you so much for the great advice, unfortunately I have quite a tiny apartment and their current homes Take up so much space that I really only have the one space in my kitchen to make a neutral zone, I also have no way to bunny proof the whole space to ensure they don’t eat the spicy hay on my fridge and other important appliances so I have…[Read more]

I think I posted some info about possible megacolon in your other thread. Do her symptoms line up with possible megacolon? (she has the markings associated with it). Often it manifests as chronic or recurring stasis when buns are between 1-3 years old after a minor stressor or trigger.

Glad he’s doing better! A lot of buns have mysterious tummy trouble when molting or timed with the seasons. He could have had a mass of fur or other material that he was working through.

LBJ10 – but it was 2 months ago that this started. Is it common that a bout of GI stasis can turn into a long term GI problem?

How quickly was this shift and how long has it been going on? I’m curious as to whether this just started today or yesterday, or whether it’s been going on for a while?

If you’ve noticed a gradual loss of appetite, she could have a dental problem that’s bothering her. Eating less hay would make her poops smaller as well.

Thank you for their history, super helpful! Unfortunately most vets don’t know much about bonding, even the great vets! And yes there is tons of conflicting info on the internet!

I think you probably just moved a bit too fast with the bonding process initially, and possibly with the transition from neutral to their final home. Did you have a…[Read more]

Many people will add a few additional litter boxes in those types of situations. 🙂 The smaller boxes are usually fine when they are a ‘secondary’ box.

Hi Venkata, thanks for the info and welcome to the forum!

This thread is specifically about Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHDV2) in North America, so I don’t think your information will be easy to find for people who are interested. You are welcome to create a new topic and share your information again if you would like to though. I think it would…[Read more]

I have seen some hard-sided cat carriers that have both a top and side entry that seem great for buns! I think if you search “top loading cat carrier” you will find some good options.

You can give her simethicone baby gasdrops, 0.5 -1 ml once per hour. Try to make her move around a little. Fragrant herbs (parsley, mint, dill, cilantro etc) might spark an appetite.
