whispercalm replied to the topic Pine pellets and sneezing? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 2 months ago
Well, she was doing some light sneezing again earlytoday, so we did remove the pine pellets from her litter box and also the bag which was stored in a wicker trunk in the den where she sleeps at night. Same set up as my previous bunny had for years using the pine pellets. I have a small amount of Yesterdays News left, so am using that. I ordered…[Read more]

CutieMoosh started the topic Are silicone molds safe for bunnies? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 2 months ago
I’ve been wanting to make heart-shaped bunny treats using silicone trays, like the ones used to make ice cubes and chocolates. Would the silicone and plastic molds be safe to give to bunnies? It hasn’t and won’t be used to make any human food. Thank you!

DanaNM replied to the topic Bonding a trio- advice in the forum BONDING 4 years, 2 months ago
Hello again!Β Here are my thoughts!
So firstly I wouldn’t worry about who is dominant currently and who will be dominant. Honestly it’s often hard to tell, and sometimes we humans end up projecting an outcome on the buns unintentionally that ends up slowing down progress.
Regarding marathoning/unbonding the current pair, etc., going into a…[Read more]

Hmmm I haven’t heard of this, but I suppose it’s possible. Maybe you could take them away and use just hay in the litter box and see if the sneezing goes away?

Ellie from The Netherlands replied to the topic Owen has stasis and isn't doing well in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 2 months ago
Yes, it was really crazy. I’ve never had a bun with stasis this long. When the vet said that his gut was completely still I was very very scared. I’m glad that he bounced back to health.
Thank you for saying that I raise them well, it really does me good. I got a very nasty reaction from shelters when my previous bunny Breintje had passed away…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Air conditioning not working, need advice! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 2 months ago
76-78 is somewhat borderline, but I think adding a fan and giving them some frozen bottles to lay against they will be a lot more comfortable!
My buns all love laying in front of the fan π

It’s so frustrating when you don’t trust your vet 100%, I just landed in a similar situation myself!
Hopefully you can get to the bottom of things with some tweaks to the diet! I’m sure you know this, but with any diet additions it’s important to go very gradually, especially with bun that’s having some GI issues.
Sometimes adding a variety of…[Read more]

Awww, poor girl… I hope that the pellets will help to stabilise her gut.
The worry that pellets are too high in calories and fat is only partially true. There are pellets who are very poorly balanced out, but there are many good brands these days.
This is a great website with a comparison chart between the brands, it shows which pellets meet…[Read more]

That’s awful, I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved Sunny π₯
11 years is indeed a very long life, but somehow it always feels too short. Senior buns really are a treasure, and your bond only gets closer as they age.
Binky free, sweet Sunny…

Has anyone whose used wood pine pellets for litter had any issues with it causing sneezing in their bunny?
Charlie was on antibiotics (long story and I have posted in past about her respiratory issue) for 9 months straight before her sneezing and nasal discharge stopped. Β Sheβs been off of antibiotics for about 6 months now and doing well. She oc…[Read more]

It’s a little too hot for bunny comfort indeed (~25 Β°C for our non-American members). It’s smart that they’re in the basement now, that has the most stable temperature of any place in the house π
Besides cold water and fresh veg you could also offer them bunny-safe cool packs or let them lay against soda bottles filled with a mix of ice and…[Read more]

Thank you guys for posting this thread, so helpful. I was just wondering this myself. My bun is CRAZY about kale, it is her absolute favorite, and I’d been wondering if I could just feed kale as her main green daily. Had no idea it had higher calcium levels, I think I’ll start switching it out a bit more

Oh yes, I’m in a real love affair with my bed now! I slept 12 hours last night 😆
Your theory sounds right: they both have a dais in both their hutch, which is their favourite lounging spot, and they rule supreme here. I may pay the rent, but I’ve got no illusions about whose house this is ^_^
Molly’s been behaving a bit oddly lately: she’s…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I’ve made some previous threads on attempting to bond a quad and attempting to bond 2 males. I wanted to make a new thread with a proper title to reflect my current bonding goals. I have a bonded pair, Bear (F) and Sage (M) and 2 single buns Bodhi (M) and Salem (M). When putting all 4 together many months ago, Bodhi and Salem would…[Read more]
