Hmm, yeah that is tricky. I’m really not sure, because it’s pretty rare for buns to be in this tolerance phase for so long without fighting. If possible, you could try taking them to a friend’s house and see how they do in a completely neutral space?

At around 14 hours I actually took a pause because I was sleep deprived and getting anxious that they would fight while I was sleeping and I’d intervene too late. Thank you so much. I assume that a bun would be more likely to choke and get aspiration pneumonia from something like pellets instead of hay or herbs? He seems fine today, he is eating and pooping like normal. He did sneeze a few times this morning, but I’m not sure if that could mean that he would have already developed aspiration pneumonia?

No, I do not think they are truly bonded, and I don’t know how to get them from tolerating each other to actually being a bonded pair.

Hopefully a bit of exposure therapy will help her, poor girl. She’s such a soft soul and Glenn is just entirely too much when bonding lol. I try and limit his mounting but he’s a bit frenzied at the moment, it was pretty much all he wanted to do during the last session… Hopefully he relaxes more today.

The vet said she has been giving him antibiotics as a preventative measure in case this gas was due to an E. Cuniculi infection. I forgot to mention that he is also getting motility meds.

Thank you so much! I was just looking at the ExquisiCat Naturals, but saw that it has baking soda and something called Zoolite. Is there a different one that maybe I can’t seem to find?

I think I would just take things slow and keep sessions short at first. Don’t worry about petting her but you can prevent Glenn from chasing her when she tries to move away from the mounting. The mounting may calm down on its own after a few more sessions.
