What type of litter are the using the box? It isn’t toxic to rabbits.

It definitely depends on the rabbit. But yes, they can be pretty bitey sometimes. LOL  They aren’t doing to the be mean or aggressive, necessarily. As Bam said, they communicate with their mouths. My bun Bam was very sensitive to carrot, of all things. The tops were fine, but the actual carrot wasn’t. He could eat other sugary foods (in small amounts of course), but even a small piece of carrot would cause gas and/or sticky poop.

The white spot on the forehead makes me think its a wild cottontail bun. Thank you for trying to save him! You should contact a wildlife rehabber. They will know what to do and will be able to give you instructions.

I’d say rabbits are pretty nippy. Since they cant talk  the often communicate with their mouths via biting, nipping and licking. Especially young buns (teenagers) can be bitey, until they understand how to get their point across without actually drawing blood. Is this a wild or domestic bunny? In either case, he needs vet attention. A wild bunny is very unlikely to survive in captivity due to stress, and should be taken to a wildlife rehab. If a domestic rabbit that you plan to try to keep, you should take him to the vet to have his injuries looked after and find out how old he is.

Just found a baby bunny. He was running from my cat. A little bit bigger than a size of a large egg when in a ball. He has abrasions and tufts of fur ready to fall off.

What do I clean the wounds with?

My first house bun Bunston had a bit of a sensitive tum. He would get gassy from ANY brassica (kale, collards, arugula, etc.), not just things like cabbage and broccoli that are known to be gas inducing.

I would do a bit more wee bit pre-bonding to see if that lunging behavior calms down a bit! Flopping against the pen is kind of a mixed signal, because it can be seen as relaxed behavior, as well as a “look how much I don’t care about you” type of behavior.

Does he use the toys you give him? It can take some experimentation to find a chew toy that they really like to chew. The key is to find something they like to chew more than your belongings! A 4 x 4 pen sounds fine for recovering. She will likely want a quiet, warm, and dimly lit place to recover in. You can stock up on favorite herbs and greens to entice her to eat when she gets home. Hmmm, given his incisor trouble I would want to have his back molars checked out thoroughly. He could just be used to filling up on pellets so he’s not great at eating his hay, but if he had bad malocclusion before he may also have some molar issues. Lionheads are becoming one of the breeds that is known for dental issues, unfortunately.

Buns can have basil daily and in large amounts if you’ve got it on hand. Of course new foods should be introduced gradually though!

The only thing basil has is to pay attention to is a lot of calcium, but unless your bun is on a restricted calcium diet it’s not something to worry about.
