The person I got my bunny from suggest a grid for her to stand on. I’ve seen so many people use different methods im just trying to figure out whats the right one to use for…[Read more]

Sorry for the late reply but I checked his eye and it’s not leaking, least not from what I could see

I thought so. I’m going to call the vet hopefully tomorrow to see when they have the exotic expert in and see what they say.

Bam replied to the topic GI stasis recovery: what’s normal? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years ago
it isnormal for a bun to have weird poop for quite som time after a bad bout of stasis. You can se oddly shaped poop, necklace-poop (chain of poops strung together), intermittent mushy poop etc. It means the gut microbiota is disturbed, but as long as there is appetite, poop will eventually normalize.
Pellets are often the last thing a stasis bun…[Read more]

Catwindheart, this does seem a bit concerning. It could be a dental issue. Can you see if his eye on the affected side is leaky at all?

So I returned from vacation to find my bunny significantly under weight and in bad shape. I got her into a vet as soon as I could (within 14 hours of returning home) and she was diagnosed with GI stasis. She was hospitalized for the day to be given subQ fluids and was put on cisapride 3x a day until pooping normally for 2 days.
She has seemed to…[Read more]

I would try not to worry about it! Either they will be super bonded and you’ll be comfortable leaving them, or they won’t be and you can separate them. They won’t be starting from scratch! I’ve had to do things like this before and never really noticed a big back slide in progress after little breaks here and there.
One tip (for if they are…[Read more]

I replied in your other thread, but just to have it here as well, I think you should see a vet. This combined with excessive drinking sounds like a possible dental issue.

Glad she keeps improving!
And yes it’s so hard to keep them confined as they start to feel better, but with spaying it’s especially important because it takes time to heal internally.
“boredom buster” toys that are meant to be destroyed can be good during this time, and you can rotate them throughout the day. Phone books, grass mats, willow…[Read more]

We’re seeing more and more cuddles and less mounting. Molly is becoming more confident too, and nudges Owen aside when he’s hogging one of the food bowls. Owen has a tendency to claim food, but Molly is starting to speak her mind about it.
They’re spending most of their time flopped together, even though it’s a bit too warm for bunny comfort.…[Read more]

Oof that second pic does look much worse. Even when my buns get salad juice on their face or drink from their bowls it doesn’t’ get that wet. My first thought is perhaps a dental issue causing drooling, so yes I agree that a vet visit would be a good idea.

I know the answer is probably yes but I just want to make sure since I only have enough for his examination.
If you’ve been reading some of my posts you’ll know that Thumpers face is a mess, literally. He’s still acting normal, drinking his usual amount, eating his normal amount and pooping and peeing normally but someone on rabbitsonline said…[Read more]

Effi did snap out of it many, many times, so I guess I couldnt know if she’d do that again. So it’s only in retrospect that I have regrets, back when it happened, it felt like I had to try.
I hope Teddy will come to like the blow drying as much as Bam did, but if he prefers just being dried with a towel, that shouldn’t be a problem -esp not in…[Read more]

this is just me fretting about the coming months – im going to be away for a week at the end of august and ideally they would have been bonded by then which gives me 5 weeks from now but i definitely dont want to rush or force anything on them so IF they are not then i need to plan their housing accordingly.
I have family that can take in Freya…[Read more]
