I actually do have this rug! I leave it in my room for them along with another litter box, but it hasn’t helped with keeping the poop in the litter box. Also, it tends to slip even with the non slip underneath it.

Yes, this is why I was asking if there were any other symptoms. Rapid weight loss is most definitely concerning. But, unfortunately, it could be caused by any number of things. Rapid weight loss alone is not much to go on. I would say it could be some kind of cancer too. The vet can do x-rays and blood work.

Did the vets suggest any type of course of action?

Uterine cancer is of course not an issue with a male bun, intact or not,  but there are other types of cancers that can affect both males and femals, f ex blood cancer. To diagnose that, a blood panel is of need.

Yep about the age. He’s not neutered and I don’t know, she just said that they did an exam then took him to the back for a bit and brought him back to her saying that they couldn’t find anything but that’s about all I know.
