Hey!
Sounds like a tough situation but also promising, you have a lot of patience!
I don’t have experience bonding more than a pair but have bonded a few pairs.
Based on what you have said the advice I can offer is that a) I wouldn’t get too caught up in who is top bun and who is not, most buns want to be the one on top, so often both buns w…[Read more]

Oh, wonderful news!
Rabbits can become a little gassy after a pook (the gut pH can actually change!), and sometimes you need to give 2 doses of simethicone with 30 mins to 1 hour in between before you see improvement!

Short answer – Yes. Veggies are a great addition to a rabbit’s diet. They add variety and enrichment, plus additional nutrients. However, they are not the most important part of a healthy diet. Hay should make up the bulk of what your bunny is eating.

Thank you guys!! He’s fine now. I think he was a little spooked, but the whole thing only lasted an hour. Thank you, Wick, Fable, and Bam!

I rode a horse once and I did enjoy it. After that — never again. Not because of choice, but because it’s not something easily accessible for me nor am I taking measures to schedule it, haha.

If your rabbit hasn’t eaten or pooped in 12 hours, please seek veterinary care immediately.
If it is still within 3 hours since last eating/pooping, some consider this an “early monitoring” phase, where you can try some at-home measures to relieve what may be gas discomfort: h…[Read more]

Hi everyone.
My bunny, an unneutered 2 year old, has suddenly completely stopped eating and I have no idea what to do. He’s been avoiding me and has stopped licking me entirely, which is something he always does.
He had GI stasis in February I believe. I noticed he didn’t have much of an appetite a few minutes ago, so I gave him an oxbow tre…[Read more]

Just to give an update, both sides of his face are now clean and there’s no return of whatever happened, even after giving him and Blossom some grapes. He’s still going to get his examination, better safe than sorry after all!

Rabbits can live without veggies, as long as they get good quality hay and a moderate amount of pellets. Veggies are rather more enrichment than important nutrition-wise. Rabbits are grass eaters, their bodies incl their teeth are adapted to a diet consisting of plenty of grass. (Hay is, as you know, dried grass). There are rabbits that get…[Read more]

I know the answer is probably ‘no’. But when I bring this up to my dad and step mom they say that there’s not enough money for veggies. (But there was enough for emergency vets appointment???? –_–; ) My bunnies have been doing great on hay and pellets only with a few treats here and there. But I still worry about them. I told my step mom to pick…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic my bunnies butt is always covered in pee in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years ago
Something is wrong if a bun’s butt is wet after he pees. Wet fur will harm the skin and can cause urine scald and/or offer an ideal environment for skin fungus or bacteria. I’m pretty sure you know all this, so I’m only mentioning it, it could be helpful for other readers of this thread.
You can give a butt bath, and you can give him a sanitary…[Read more]

Cecotropes: If on a young rabbit diet (i.e., primarily alfalfa), excessive cecotrope production is not inherently concerning. Alfalfa is very nutrient dense, which is why we want younger rabbits on it so they grow properly. That being said, it can lead to them producing more cecotropes than they actually need, so them leaving many behind can be…[Read more]
