Yes, it could be, she’s a very anxious rabbit in general.

If it’s caused by anxiety it’s odd that she suddenly switched her style though: she used to withdraw when scared. This lunging, boxing and scratching at everyone is definitely new.

We were aware that she has mood swings and that this makes bonding with Owen difficult. I just never thought…[Read more]

Hello everybody! I haven’t posted in awhile but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for toys to hang up in Starlight’s pen. She loves to pull and tug toys that are hanging the most out of any toys I give her but I like to get different toys to change it up. Thanks!

You can burrito him in a towel and then just pull the foot out. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to clean it up. However, it may not be necessary. When a nail bleeds, it tends to bleed enough to flush everything out of the wound. The nail may or may not grow back. And if it does grow back, it could grow back crooked. It just depends on how damaged the quick is.

LBJ10 replied to the topic True aggression, but who is the aggressor here? in the forum BEHAVIOR 3 years, 11 months ago

Molly is inside and Owen is outside? I’m not really seeing any fighting in the video. What I see is Owen actively trying to get to Molly from different angles. Molly meets him each time. At one point, it looks like he nips at her rear. She spins around and then there is a little bit of boxing through the bars. To me, it would appear that Owen…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic If you have lovingly bonded bunnies, how did they react to each other before bond in the forum BEHAVIOR 3 years, 11 months ago

You may have some difficulty if there is mounting (which is a normal part of the bonding process). It could trigger a false pregnancy and your female could become aggressive toward your male. This can be very stressful for a bunny, especially if it happens over and over again. Is there a reason that she isn’t spayed? Spaying is highly recommended…[Read more]

Gurgling noises aren’t necessarily bad. The gut makes noises when it’s working. The antibiotics could have messed up the gut flora a bit, so you may notice some weird poops. As long as she is eating and pooping fine, then I wouldn’t be overly concerned. You could try giving some probiotics to see if that helps.

Making noises doesn’t necessarily indicate anything. Hormonal bunnies will honk and make other noises. Boys and girls both.

Ellie – Could the behavior be anxiety-related? Would she benefit from taking some melatonin? Or even wearing a thunder shirt? Well… if you could fashion one that small, that is.

He’s pretty good about not peeing on himself because he still lifts his tail and can aim it behind him, so that’s good. And yeah, the balance of good and bad days is hard. 🙁

@Azerane: Whoop, congrats on Luna, and I hope that you’ll get Jasiri’s test results soon! We’re awaiting test results too, and it’s nerve-wracking.

@Dana: hope you’ll get well soon! And I’m really rooting for Bun Jovi’s new treatment.

@Dorian: get well soon too! Could Dorian have some Nethie in him? Nethies have a very dense double coat that’s…[Read more]

It’s hard to know if he was improving and he is just having a bad day… or if he isn’t improving and he was just having a good day. Perhaps just having you return home was enough to perk him up a bit and make him try a little harder?

Does he pee on himself while he scoots around or does he try to direct it away from himself?

So Mrvica got GI again yesterday. She stopped eating in the evening and started hiding and stomach pressing. Literally 2 weeks haven’t gone since her last vet appointment. I took her again this morning she gave her reglan and buscopan like always but she also told me there might be something other than furballs in her stomach so I’m taking her for…[Read more]

    Hi,

my 5 year old bunny was on anti biotics for 2 weeks for a uti. Since then (about three weeks now) she has a very loud gurgling belly after eating.
she has a fantastic appetite and poops a lot. Some are long rather than round.

im wondering if it’s an after effect of the AB’s and if there is anything I could do to help it??

    Thanks

Yeah the territorial stuff I expected, but sleeping on the couch the few weeks leading up to rehoming her was… wow.
