Thanks for all your input! I’m in Canada so some of the brands mentioned are not available. I’m looking for a local farm that offers timothy hay (possibly 2nd cutting) in bales. I spent the whole afternoon looking and didn’t get anywhere!

My bun wastes a LOT of hay too, and what I’ve been doing that helps a little is taking all the wasted hay out of her pen and putting it in a cardboard box. Is his litter box easy to jump into and “enticing”? I suspect that this is mostly because he isn’t neutered yet, but you can encourage him to use his box my making it “appealing”. It’s good if you can catch him “in the act” and put him in the box. Adding another litterbox could lead to him choosing that one over the cage one, but I still think it could be a good idea. My bun has 3 litterboxes around the apartment, but she has one that she favors.
