Personally… I would go get some hay if at all possible. If not, give extra pellets and veggies. Not eating enough fiber can cause GI upset, with the worst case being stasis or a bad gas episode.

Sometimes a vet will want to do blood work before anesthesia, but not always. Usually only in cases where the rabbit is very old or already very ill. When my bun had dentals (by a very rabbit savvy vet) there were not any pre-treatment tests.

This is very frustrating. I agree with everyone who has replied so far. Definitely remind her how much work a rabbit is. I would also suggest reminding her that rabbits also have feelings and that neglecting a rabbit can make them depressed.
