Lovely to hear everyone is getting geared up for the holiday season! I do love spoiling the floffs a little at Christmas!
Ellie im glad the dental went well, i feel you with the dental buns! Both of mine have become dental buns as they’ve gotten older, im preparing myself for 2-3 burrs per year 🙁 I didn’t realise different types of anesthetic…[Read more]

Sorry for being a little late to this post!
Overall I love having a bun room and they love it too! Pros are knowing they are happy and chill in a larger space, I found that once I was able to give them a room they became very content in their space and don’t feel the need to excercise around the house so much… So its great for peace of mind…[Read more]

I agree with the points made by the other.
I too think that it seems to be going well overall and they just need to work things out. Grooming is very positive. The main thing is preventing an all out fight from happening but I have found that allowing a little light nipping actually helps things to move along, I believe they use this to try and…[Read more]

Looks like black tort vm?
The subject of intentional breeding is prohibited on this forum. There are forums that allow and encourage discussions on breeding, f ex Rabbits Online, their Rabbitry and Showroom-section. You could also try r/rabbits on Reddit.

Hello there, this is Sage, a four-week-old Holland lop from my doe Dailey. I need some insight into what color she is. Her mother is a black tort VM and her father is a BEW -

Ah gotcha! Of course I can’t guarantee any particular thing will work (my rabbits were fine until one day they weren’t), but if you have a method that has worked for chickens before then that should also work for the buns. I would still worry about them being face to face with a predator though with it being on the ground. Even if the predator…[Read more]

Thanks! Sorry, by chicken wire i meant hardware cloth. We have some that we put on our chicken coop (that’s why i think of it as chicken wire) that has stopped dogs/foxes before. for that hutch i would put the hardware cloth i have on the bottom so nothing could get in, i liked that particular hutch mainly because of the size.

Thank god it doesn’t involve anything else, this time it’s just underneath her chin extending towards her neck area but not quite on the neck thankfully. I’m at a loss as to how it’s happened twice other than she has managed to get a splinter twice, I guess the biopsy should rule out any other causes though to be safe. The prior one was full of…[Read more]

Chicken wire will not keep predators out, it only keeps small animals in. Coyotes and foxes can chew or rip through it easily. “Hardware cloth” is better, but determined predators can get through at as well if the hutch is not well constructed and if they work hard enough at it. Growing up a group of stray dogs knocked my hutches over, ripped them…[Read more]

I wish I could, but my mom hates mess, and already she is getting annoyed. I found one good hutch, Its called the Frisco wooden rabbit run on chewy, but i dont know if even that would be okay outside. I have some chicken wire and some wood, and i was thinking of making a custom bun hutch.

I’m glad you were able to get her in and get it removed. The larva may have been there awhile. The larval stage can last several months.

Yep, agree with LBJ10. We are learning more about EC all the time and the tests have improved, so I imagine vets are starting to reassess they way we treat for it.

I definitely recommend keeping your bunny inside until you can get something secure, as a dog crate will not protect her from predators.
As far as hutches, I’m not really sure, and for that price it may be difficult. You would probably have the best luck looking locally for something used or for a local maker.
Is there any way you can keep your…[Read more]

Hello guys, I have been looking for a outdoor hutch for my bun, because ours broke (She is currently in a large dog crate). Does anyone know of affordable hutches that protect against predators? I live in the middle of nowhere, and foxes are common where i live. The hutch would be against the house, and there’s a small chance of something trying…[Read more]
