So we are back from the vet’s today, Budja’s had her sutures removed, and the vet looked in her mouth just to see if there was anything visible inside at all as Budja’s still makes that frequent chewing movement. The vet also believes that yes we are dealing with a third abscess now and it just keeps seeming to migrate to different area’s. The…[Read more]

Elmer's Dad started the topic 10 Month Old Angel 🙁 in the forum RAINBOW BRIDGE 3 years, 3 months ago

My angel, Elmer, passed yesterday very suddenly. My girlfriend and I are at a loss for words as to what happened. He was laying underneath the bed, and suddenly sprinted out, looked a little odd, and proceeded to lie underneath my desk (where he used to play with my feet while I’m doing work), and that was it. He was only 10 months old. That’s…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Bunny proofing cords in the forum BEHAVIOR 3 years, 3 months ago
The most secure thing for an area the bun will have unsupervised access to is to completely block access to the cords with storage cube grids (such as an are behind a desk with lots of cords). If that’s not possible, I really like the hard sided “cord concealers”, or using a section of PVC pipe. I’ve also packed extra cord into a plastic…[Read more]

What all have you found most effective for chewing and electrical cords? I’m getting ready to further expand my bun’s free roam space. I’m planning to completely block off what I can, but would like to find an effective protective tubing for a couple of spots. I’m a little overwhelmed by all of the choices to do that and am afraid of choosin…[Read more]

Victor the bunbun posted an update 3 years, 3 months ago
Hello, I’m new here. I just wanted to ask if something Victor (lion head dwarf bunny) is normal.
Yesterday like normal I brought him to my parents bed, he stayed on my mom’s pillow while occasionally going over to my dad’s, which at the time I was there. My mom would pet his belly, as he loves belly rubs, he flopped on her head, which in result…[Read more]

Thanks Bam and LBJ10 for all of your advice! I just got back from the follow-up, and they were surprised by the amount of fur that’s grown back and how good it’s looking. I don’t believe it’s systemic, but was rather an isolated issue, as you said aggravated by him constantly messing with it. With that being said, I probably won’t use the…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic nose discharge? in the forum DIET & CARE 3 years, 3 months ago
They can also have matted fur on their cheeks, from smearing snot onto their faces when they groom themselves.
Clear discharge can as a rule be monitored. Opaque and/or colored nasal discharge indicates a bacterial rabbit “cold”. It isnt necessarily very expensive to get treatment for (standard treatment is as a rule oral antibiotics like Bactrim…[Read more]
