Thanks for the answer. I have had them for five years now. Ginger (the girl who keeps distance) was friendly before spaying and before she got a bunny friend. I don’t try to lift them up, I leave them on the ground while I’m making contact. I usually just lie on the ground near her, give her treats from my hand. Then time to time I reach out…[Read more]

Maybe you could find a current rabbit veterinary guide on Amazon and casually leave it in their office.

Then they will be up to date.

I once went to “the best” bird vet, only to have him come back in the room with a book that looked like it was published in the ’70s.  I found a new vet.

Hi, just want to let you know my experience.  My bun had similar symptoms.   The symptoms developed into EC.  Unfortunately my vet at the time did not want to give me Fenbendazole/Panacur but just put him on antibiotics which of course did not work and he developed severe EC.  A fellow member on a bunny site helped figure out the dosage of the…[Read more]

Thank you, I will try that and see if that works a bit better, it’s been confusing because it looks like it goes in and I’ve read something about there being two layers of skin? so maybe im just getting the needle under the surface or something weird hence why it all comes back out. She is very furry by the way so that would probably make it tons easier.

How long have you had them? Most buns don’t like to be held, and some are less interested in pets. It generally works well to play “hard to get” with shy bunnies, meaning spend a lot of time with her but don’t force any interactions.

It does sound like best thing to have it removed. Its great that it can be moved around.

Hi!I have a bunny couple: a girl and a boy. The boy is the dominant and the girl is the submissive one. Both of them neutered/spayed. They get along well with each other,  but the girl doesn’t not accept any cuddle/pet from us, humans. The boy loves to be cuddled. What is the problem? I use the same bonding techniques for both of them.

Thank you for these tips! I really appreciate your help. I will definitely use the forearm trick and I have begun to try to put extra bedding in the spots that she sits on her hocks most. Thanks!

Thanks for pointing out that it is good to be mindful where they clean themselves! I have been trying to put extra soft bedding in her grooming spots. thank you for your help!

I’ve decided to have it removed. It’s the size of a chickpea. It’s on the outside and can be moved around. I’m super nervous about her surgery but I didn’t want to take any chances.

It’d be great if you could get us a photo of it!

How big is it? I take it its not painful if you touch it? Is it (somewhat) moveable under the skin or very firmly attached?

(Just asking because the more info we get, the better).

Sounds like you got the coveted “love at first sight” bunnies! But you also had good judgement to not rush things. 🙂

You can definitely do an overnight now, but you will want to supervise. That means setting up somewhere to “sleep” near them so you will hear if a fight breaks out and you can intervene quickly. I put sleep in quotation marks…[Read more]

Yes it’s very normal for the ears (as well as the nose, tail, and paws) to get lighter when it’s warmer!
