It does look like it could be a slight tilt, but I agree that it isn’t an emergency and also could just be them turning their head to get a better look at you. Def good to have the vet check it out if you are concerned. If you have pics of a time before you noticed the tilt for comparison that could be helpful for the vet as well. Videos can be…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic HELP ME! I found a lump on my rabbit's belly in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 3 years ago
Unfortunately because your rabbit is unspayed, it sounds like it could be cancer, but we cannot diagnose your bun or tell you how serious it is, as we are not vets. The fact that she is drinking excessively and is hungry but not eating hay are also concerning symptoms. A vet would be the only person who could diagnose what is going on. If it is…[Read more]

Hello everybody! I am very much panicking and this was the only place I could turn for help at the moment. I know it is a long one but PLEASE read my post. I am desperate. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Today I found a lump on my 7 year old, female (not spayed), Holland Lop’s lower to mid abdomen. It seemed to be about 1 cm big…[Read more]

Yeah, I’m not seeing this as an emergency either. They are eating and pooping, so no need to panic. The tilt you’re talking about is very hard to see in these pictures. Especially the photo with both of them, it just looks like something has their attention. It looks like they are on a platform, so whatever they are looking at appears to be below…[Read more]

It doesnt look very alarming to me, so as long as theyre actibg normal in other respects, esp regarding appetite and poop, I dont think you need them off to an ER vet.
Its great that you’re taking them on a planned appt tomorrow though, since you’re obviously very worried. It’s great if you can take a bunch of pics/films so you can show the…[Read more]

I like the idea of filling a bag w/ some hay and hiding a broken up treat inside– perhaps cut some slits in the bag so they can really go at it!

Sorry for not posting enough but I just wanted to say that today has been 5 years since Blossom and Thumper came in to my life and made it for the better. I wanna do something more than just give them treats, do you guys have any suggestions? I have brown paper lunch bags, safe twine and not many cardboard tubes. They like to throw the cardboard…[Read more]

Thanks for the responses! I will see what I can do about getting the fluffers into a vet.
Hopefully it’s nothing and they are just super excited about their food. lol.
I also learned that the head shake ruffle thing they do is a head binky… I had no idea that even existed! 😲
Why are bunnies just so adorable?! 😫

I agree. I would be wary too if this were something new. Yes, some bunnies are very vocal. But it’s one of those things where they have “always” been that way. Considering they are 10 and they just started this, I would at least have their vet check it out. Just to be sure.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Sneezing for Months (Antibiotics?) in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 3 years ago
Yes, chronic sneezing doesn’t happen for no reason. There are some conditions that cause chronic sneezing, like problems with the sinuses and tooth roots. I had a bunny with this problem. But that certainly isn’t the norm. Usually, chronic sneezing is caused by a URI and antibiotics can clear that up. Most vets will simply prescribe a…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic trying to figure out the cause of recurring gas episodes in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 3 years ago
It’s very possible that she is sensitive to something in her diet. I could be the veggies she is getting or it could even be the pellets. This will take some time to figure out because you’re going to have to eliminate things and then give one thing at a time to see if the gas comes back. That would be the only way to pinpoint exactly what is…[Read more]

I recommend seeking veterinary consultation before starting any treatment. Re: the antibiotic, there would be no point in changing it at this point since it’s never been tried before– I was just mentioning that if you tried it and it didn’t work, it just may not be effective toward the particular strain your rabbit has.
If your vet already…[Read more]

Thanks so much for the quick reply. Yes the wet sound is typical for him except the days he has less congestion it is more regular sounding sneezes. The sneezing happens all the time, but especially during drinking and eating hay. I clean the water bowl with soap once a day, and rinse and refill multiple times a day, and feed Oxbow prime cut hay…[Read more]

7 sneezes per hour isn’t really typical, and while rabbits w/ smooshed faces can have respiratory issues, I personally don’t attribute it to random, chronic sneezing. If the sneezing is generally always associated w/ an action, like eating hay or drinking water, then I’d be more inclined to say it’s normal external irritations. If it’s happening…[Read more]

Hi! I adopted my bun over a year ago, he is 2 years old dwarf (2.3 lbs) and fixed. He’s totally free roam and such a good boy! About 6 months ago, I noticed excess sneezing with a wet sound. He always sneezes a few times while drinking water. Squeaking sounds when he drinks too. When I wipe his nose after drinking, it’s clear and not sticky. Some…[Read more]
