Hi, guys! Long time no see.

Meatloaf n Bunnito are now 10! Yay!

What brought me here today is some interesting behavior I’ve noticed in the past year. I don’t know how long it’s been going on, but I have noticed it within this past year.

When they eat, they make squeaking noises. Not all the time, but enough to warrant me coming here to see what yall think. I think it may just them being happy while eating their hay. They get super excited over food. 😂

I keep them supplied with hay all day, but with how excited they get, you’d swear I’ve never fed em! But, I want to hear your guys’ opinions on the subject. I’ve only noticed it while they are eating and it is loud enough to hear it over a low fan.

With that being said, though, my male bunny (Bunnito) has always been relatively loud. His tooth purring gets pretty intense when being cuddled. 🤣

Anywho… Please let me know your thoughts!

        Thanks! 😊

          Hi Meatloaf and Bunnito!

Some buns are naturally vocal, but since this is sth new for you buns, and they are 10 years old, I think I’d like for a vet to listen to their lungs. My bun Bam started making squeaky noises, when he ate, especially when he ate sth really delicious. They werent very loud noises, but quite noticeable, and it turned out it was due to a lower respiratory infection. He was put on 2 weeks of Bactrim (antibiotics) plus oral terbutalin and meloxicam and made a full recovery.

I agree. I would be wary too if this were something new. Yes, some bunnies are very vocal. But it’s one of those things where they have “always” been that way. Considering they are 10 and they just started this, I would at least have their vet check it out. Just to be sure.

Thanks for the responses! I will see what I can do about getting the fluffers into a vet.

Hopefully it’s nothing and they are just super excited about their food. lol.

I also learned that the head shake ruffle thing they do is a head binky… I had no idea that even existed! 😲

Why are bunnies just so adorable?! 😫
