Meg replied to the topic Bunny not drinking – Post for Bcoleman in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 3 years ago
This post was from a while back, but I wanted to reply just in case still helpful:
I’m not a vet so I can’t interpret the bloodwork, but just wanted to say that for a year or so in his old age our bunny also stopped drinking water on his own (and then he started up again later). I asked here and the consensus was that sometimes they’re getting…[Read more]

DanaNM started the topic Trio bonding… again (Myra, Bonnie, Cooper) in the forum BONDING 3 years ago
I wasn’t sure if I was going to journal this, but I figure I might as well. Since Bun Jovi passed we would like to bond Myra (spayed F) with Cooper (neutered M) and Bonnie (spayed F). I’ve been working with them for almost 2 weeks. When I moved Myra into the room with the others Cooper immediately started chasing Bonnie so I opted to separate…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Bonding offspring+parents? in the forum BONDING 3 years ago
You’ll need to separate the baby from the parents once it’s weaned and until it’s neutered/spayed, but odds of success are really the same as with any other bonding, maybe slightly better, and the process is the same. Unfortunately it’s not recommended to just let them stay together because rabbits don’t recognize family relationships and once t…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic How old is this bunny? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 3 years ago
Poor baby, that is a wild bunny. I’m not sure if it’s weaned but you should take it to a wildlife rehabber for care. It is very likely to go into shock due to the stress of everything 🙁

We have a surprise litter (male was already neutered, mom will be spayed once the litter is weaned). While this was not our plan, we do have plenty of space for a third, and keeping one of the little ones that we have raised since day one sounds like a delight.
I’m wondering if anyone has experience with keeping an offspring of a pair and how…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic In memory of Brownie in the forum RAINBOW BRIDGE 3 years ago
Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. 🙁 This is very tragic. I’m sure Brownie knew you loved her very much and her life was full of joy, although it was cut short by this accident. Please don’t beat yourself up. Grieving a pet is hard, especially when the loss is sudden and traumatic. Is there anyone you can talk to for support, perhaps a school…[Read more]
