Wilburbunny replied to the topic Weird foot… something wrong? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 5 months ago
Thanks for the reply’s! I didn’t see the cage he was living in, so it may have been wired bottomed. It does confuse me though why only one hock is like that and not the other if that is the reason. I’ll try to check if the foot lays flat, he moves a lot so it’s hard to get him to stay still! To my knowledge, he hasn’t been to the vet yet. It d…[Read more]

My big bunny, Ailís, passed away at home on January 30 this year. I never knew her actual age but she would have been at minimum, 8 years old, likely older. She was with me from Dec 2013, a few weeks after I lost Jersey. Although I was just supposed to look after her temporarily, I found the newly widowed Rumball was showing some interest in her.…[Read more]

pinkiemarie replied to the topic Looking for advice on a trio bond that we've been working on for a year in the forum BONDING 6 years, 5 months ago
I’m actually working more with the tougher two, yesterday just happened to be date night for the easier two. We also occasionally do group dates still. We do a date of some kind almost every day but sometimes Clover gets grumpy and just needs a day or two off. The only stress bonding we’ve done is the bathtub which helped some but then Clover was…[Read more]

Gooseman (Goose/Goosey) passed away on May 21 2019 in the early hours of the morning. He had a dental procedure done the day before and just didnt do well after. He had one done in that February and was slow to come around but he did okay. Then over the next month he began drooling and needed to be looked at again. He had also been dealing w…[Read more]

Marcella replied to the topic Excessive grooming?! in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 5 months ago
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hey! Thank you all for your help.</p>
Our bunny Marcella is indeed having the first molt at 4 moths old and it coincides with winter to summer coat, I guess. She had a little problem to pass the hairs out of her system but she’s back at blissfully annoying us with her energy! -

jerseygirl replied to the topic floppy back legs in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 5 months ago
I agree, I wouldnt think it related to temperature. If EC related, they can show more symptoms when tired. Maybe that’s something to do with it? Is she more like this after she’s been quite active?
Maybe the vet will add a anti-inflammatory med to her daily schedule.
Did the orphanage have an idea about why she has weakened back legs? Had they…[Read more]

Hi @Hazel and @Bladesmith!!! So good to hear from you!
Bladesmith, what an adventure! Loki is the perfect name for a bun formerly known as Penelope. I’m glad you didnt go with IKEA, it would’ve been pretty cruel 🤣🤣🤣 He and Dawn look like a very happy couple!

jerseygirl replied to the topic “Normal” Baby Bunny behavior?? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 5 months ago
It’s possible he will stay a love bug, after perhaps a bump in the road a.k.a puberty. 😛 It’s definitely the exception, not the rule. Most rabbits will tolerate but not enjoy being held. But you could be lucky enough to have yourself one that does even as an adult bun.
Perhaps the breeder handled the rabbits a lot from birth and they’ve gotten…[Read more]

It reminds me of a pronated foot like people get. Like he is holding his weight predominately on inner side of the hock rather then evenly across it. The more pale fur on side of his feet does show more on right hock.
Has he been to a vet before? I know it’s not an easy option currently with the pandemic. It’s likely not something that needs u…[Read more]
