You could also use it as litter box bedding. Who knows, he might even sneak a few pieces that way. đ

DanaNM replied to the topic Are some buns just not as hoppy? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
Sounds normal to me! I think most bunnies won’t jump on or over something they aren’t 100% sure about, they have to be able to see where they are going clearly.
Some buns just love the cuddle life. Love that picture! Those little feet! <3

He does look like a she to me! And with the size of the dewlap prob at least a couple years old? Or potentially a pretty overweight male. Maybe if he was getting unlimited pellets in a cage before being dumped that could be the case. Sometimes vets can estimate age by looking at the rabbit’s the gait and way the back hips look (older buns feet…[Read more]

@Hazel Hahah! Love that! I’ll give it a shot and report on how it goes!

Definitely a dwarf mix. The “blocky” head speaks Holland to me… which may account for the ears that look like they want to flop.

Well, I am really working on an essay that will show my parents that I am responsible enough for my very first bun, and other than that, Iâm not really doing anything!

Are you planning on getting another bun? -
I actually donât have my first one yet, so I donât think I will have another bun very soon.

I’d say go for it. Good point from Wick about double checking everything before going to sleep.
Also, when you get up in the mornings make sure to act like they weren’t supposed to be out all night, that will make it 100x more fun for them. đ

Thank you for the advice! I made a slides presentation as well as an essay and I made sure to say that because I’m still technically a kid, I will need help with this. đ I’ll copy and paste one or two of the slides so you can see what I said.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Can anyone help me identify her breed? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
I think she’s a mix… and it might be the perspective of the photo, but there might be a bit of netherland dwarf in there. The fur length and texture matches my ND, and the snout looks pretty close to the eyes. Also the proportions sort of remind me of it as well… The ears are a bit large of a ND. The ears are also sort of headed… downward?…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic New Abandoned rabbit doesnât do anything in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
There’s a balance that needs to be struck with petting. You want to instill to the rabbit that you will never harm him/her with your touch, which is a necessary lesson to learn for handling the rabbit for medical purposes… at the same time, you want the rabbit to feel respected and secure that your presence does not mean an intrusion on their…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Bulk Veggies in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Bulk fresh veggies is difficult.Veggies go bad pretty quickly, especially those processed and bagged/boxed in stores. I think for the majority of rabbit owners, fresh veggies is added to the weekly grocery list. Unlike hay, which stays good… forever essentially, haha… veggies are really only best for a week at max, in my experience, so bulk…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Lots of sneezes but no discharge or other symptoms? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
If it’s generally happening when she’s grooming herself, it’s most likely nose irritation from her fur! I would keep monitoring and if you notice it gets worse or begins happening outside nose irritation context, then revisit if a vet visit may be needed.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Are some buns just not as hoppy? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
I think so! Some are very adventurous, some aren’t.
My dwarf rabbit is very easily stopped in his tracks by a 14in grid wall, even though he can 100% jump over it. He also doesn’t flop anymore, nor zoomie or binky (unless he’s frustrated, haha; not when he’s happy). He, similar to your bun, needs a lot of coaxing to do things and often gets…[Read more]

So neither Wick nor Fable can be free-roam without supervision anymore (Fable will never be able too; too much carpet and wood chewing… Wick recently adopted carpet pulling over this pandemic so he needs to be pen’d too, ah!), and I understand the want to give them that time! When I’m up very late and Fable is out, she does so many zoomies that…[Read more]
