A member on the forum had an EC bunny with urinary symptoms only. It is not the usual manifestation of an EC infection, but it certainly does happen. It all depends on where those lesions form. Sometimes they form on the kidneys.

I’m with Wick on this. I’m wondering if there is an underlying issue, whether it be a UTI or a mobility problem or something else.

I agree with Dana 100%. It sounds like your bunny needs to be fixed if he isn’t already. Definitely get an x pen so he can still have a good amount of space without you worrying about him destroying anything. It also sounds like you need to bunny proof. What I do is wrap heavy duty clear shipping on everything destroyable like furniture legs and b…[Read more]

I hope you and your rabbits have been doing well.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>It’s a small distinction, but it’s important to know that we aren’t actually litter box training rabbits. In actuality, we’re taking advantage of a natural instinct on their part to poop and eat in the same general locations. In addition to that instinct, they also feel…[Read more]

Yeah, the one bun I got really attached to is now adopted, soooo now I will probably just wait a few more months and bring it up then. Maybe until then I will keep doing more reaserch and bring it up once in a while. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

    @splotchesthebun

P.S fun fact, the reason why my BB name is splotches is because I was going to name the bun I get…[Read more]

Patches was/is bonded to buttons (it was a fairly easy bond) and then when I got ziggy she fell in love at 1st site with ziggy but still enjoys buttons company. I had a really rough time with the boys like I  so she spends time with 1 of the boys at all times. When i swap them she will stay in her regular pen and its just a different boy each…[Read more]

Everyone has given really good advice so far, and I agree dental issues sound likely, but I will add that heavy molting can lead to tummy upset as well, and you mentioned she was pooping out a lot of hair. Bun Jovi went into stasis during a heavy shed about a year ago and that was the only cause we could think of (when he started pooping again…[Read more]

In the past few minutes, Hunny has nibbled the ends of a carrot piece and licked Critical Care off of a favorite treat (she is terrified of the syringe). We are currently waiting for the vet to give us a call; we spoke to a tech this morning who said she would pass our concerns along. I’m in a very rough position because there are no rabbit…[Read more]

This is super helpful. Thank you!

Are any of them currently bonded in pairs?

A couple things jump out. One is that Velvet is the newest addition, was neutered/spayed most recently, hasn’t had much pre-bonding swaps, and seems to be the most aggressive. Also overall, you haven’t been working with them all for very long. Velvet might benefit from…[Read more]

Ah thanks Hazel, interesting! He has groomed her a bit today but she definitely grooms him more – they’ve been very loved up so hopefully now just a case of cementing the bond with more full-day sessions.

    If not, why not?

Even very small spurs on the molars can easily cause pain and/or sores. That’s why it’s so important to sedate and have a proper look at the back teeth. Trying to take a peek while the rabbit is awake and moving won’t cut it unfortunately. These symptoms are textbook for teeth problems, especially since she TRIES to eat, but can’t, most likely…[Read more]

Sorry you are having trouble with him. Has he been neutered yet? If so, how long ago?

Can you describe his set up a bit more?  What do you use in your litter tray? I’m not sure why it would smell if you are changing it daily. I use pine pellets and I cannot smell the litter box, even after 2 days of use.  If he is in a cage, you might consider g…[Read more]

Is he very food motivated? He might like some “food puzzles” for enrichment. Like you can hide his pellets in the stacking cups so he has to toss them around to get them. Some of my bunnies favorite toys aren’t toys… they have all liked shredding phone books. I have found my buns play less with their toys the more time they get to roam, so he…[Read more]

The slide show presentation and essay will definitely get things started and make sure you address all of their concerns. From experience, you probably won’t get that one bun you’re attached too. When I was trying to get a bunny, there was this one Lionhead I really wanted but my parents were set against it at that time. Your probably going to hav…[Read more]

I believe Revolution works against ticks, so you could ask your vet for a prescription if it becomes an ongoing problem. (obligatory PSA, never use Frontline on rabbits! it can kill them 🙁 ).

It is possible, but you have your work cut out for you! To get a bit more info about what you’ve tried and how long you’ve been working with them, could you fill out the bonding template (pinned in the bonding section) and paste it in your reply?

It may be necessary for you to take them to a completely new, very large space. It also might be good…[Read more]

It does sound like dental problems. Sometimes vets dont see what’s wrong, even though they look with an otoscope at the molars. It can for example be difficult if the rabbit doesnt sit still enough. This happened with my bun, when he stopped eating last fall. I went to a different vet clinic for a 2and opinion, they identified problem and burred his teeth.
