Hello, welcome back. It doesnt look too irritated. Does he react when you touch it?
A few of my bunnies have had little lumps that have never changed. With one, the vet said it was old scar tissue.
This probably isnt anything to be worried about now that you’ve had it checked out. Just something to keep an eye on for changes.

The idea of both of them being out in the free roam space sounds very scary, since that’s where the chaos ensues. I think I alternative will be below:

I think I’ll push it through for a while more, getting closer to maybe 36-48hours but monitoring for any concerns. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and am trying to be forgiving of my concerns in…[Read more]

Ditto Wick. Other bunny owner is a plus, but they would need to be kept separate, which would likely be much more of a hassle for them. Perhaps one of them could come care for your bun at your place?
PS. Un-related to your question, but if possible you might encourage them to spay their girl. Many people do not know about the risk of reproductive…[Read more]

Yeah, the chewing behavior is really scaring me. The specialist told us Hunny’s teeth didn’t need to be filed down after all, but she wasn’t concerned about that because the teeth would grow back. Our normal vet is the one who did the filing; she said Hunny’s teeth were fine during her initial exam but later decided to file them as a precaution…[Read more]

OMG your bathroom does look the same! The enclosure almost looks the same, 1 pen panel x 4! And way to go on the 20 hours! And it’s so neat and tidy in there, you must have just started the session. 😛
I think taking little breaks for zoomies is OK? I would prob take them both out during that time though? It prob wouldn’t matter much, but I…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Litter training a baby bunny in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
Ah yes, some bunnies can ONLY have hay in the litter box, or they see anywhere with hay as the litter box. I have also seen set-ups where the food bowl and water dish are only accessible from inside the box which can help as well.

DanaNM replied to the topic Do rabbits snore? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
Bun Jovi snores! At first I was very alarmed by it because it almost sounded like wheezing but then I learned bunnies can and do snore. He doesn’t do it when he’s active, only when sleeping in a particular position.

The chewing behavior is so strange. I do still wonder if it’s because her teeth were over-filed though, even though I guess you did somewhat see that before all of this started?
I’m assuming you are still giving her critical care? Are there any other exotics vets in your area that could give you a second opinion? Perhaps the most recent vet you…[Read more]

Thank you, Hazel 🙂
We have not tried that, yet, no. Hunny takes her meds without much issue. She just HATES the Critical Care, for some frustrating reason. She’s supposed to have 20 ml twice a day, and we’re lucky if we get in 10. What kinds of the food would you recommend/are safe for bunnies? Hunny is so used to the same old foods that I…[Read more]

Since my last post from this morning, I’ve seen Hunny eat three strawberry tops. She struggled to actually chew them, and pieces kept falling out of her mouth, but she eventually got them all down, save for the leaves (she had no problem eating them prior to whatever she has now). One strawberry top even had powdered Critical Care on it! Not sure…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic A new puppy = different bunny poops in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
I agree it’s prob the stress of the puppy. You might want to reduce the contact they have even more until she’s back to normal then move more slowly. Puppies and rabbits are a tough mix as everything is a chew toy to puppies, and everything is a predator to rabbits. So you’ll want to work on establishing very firm boundaries with your dog so that…[Read more]

Recovering from stasis is a slow process, it will take a while for her body to get back to normal. She is eating at times, and pooping which is great. I know it’s hard, but try to stay patient. 🙂
You said you’re still having trouble syringe feeding her. Have you tried the baby food? I really think it might help get the CC into her (or even…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic PLEASE HELP BUNNY REFUSES TO TAKE MEDS in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
When I give meds I either sit on a chair with bun on my lap, or on the table on a towel, that way they can’t squirm away. Do the bun-rito once you’ve got him on the table. The C-grip Wick described is the way to go for sure.
Not sure if you’ve tried this, but have you tried mixing the meds into some mashed banana and syringing it that…[Read more]
