I think for now it would be better for your frustration levels to get hold of and excercise pen and attach that to his cage. Line the floor in the pen with something that is easy to clean up. I’d recommend even using a set up like this for a few weeks after he is neutered.

I agree with what everyone has said, and I do sympathise with you. It’s always scary when your bun is having any sort of procedure. I dont think the risk of sth really bad happening during a neuter of a young bun is as high as 1% tbh. It’s still scary though, just because we love them so much 💗

If she has trouble chewing hay, you could cut it up into smaller pieces. You can also soak hay to soften it, but if you do, the hay should be replaced often because wet hay spoils quickly.

To make hay more appetizing you can sprinkle herbs on top.

Oh yeah. I also forgot to mention that bath mats have anti-slip too. And they’re pretty much made to get wet.

I have Vetbed mats for my rabbit. (Vetbed is a brand but there are other similar products). They are sold for dogs, but they’re very good for buns too. They’re anti-slip and soft and I’ve washed mine innumerable times.

To be honest, I love bath mat rugs. They sell some nice bath rugs in IKEA. I use them for my bunny, and they seem to work beautifully for her hocks, and since they are machine washable, they’re easy to just pop into the washing machine. Okay so Ive monitored throughout the day and the problem seemingly is getting worse…she absolutely refuses to eat any hat and I’m definitely going to schedule a vet appointment but there’s only one rabbit vet in my area, and she takes a couple days to schedule things. What should I do in the mean time to get her to eat the hay?
