We got a different appointment for this Wednesday afternoon! Thank goodness! Please keep the prayers for Hunny coming!

Just found out the soonest Hunny can get a CT scan is June 30, 15 days from now. I worry about Hunny making it until then. Unless my girl’s situation becomes emergent (let’s pray it doesn’t), they won’t see her any sooner.

Anything that may lead a rabbit to shift its weight on its feet abnormally may facilitate sore hocks. Navigating on a slippery surface, like plastic, may do that. The HRS has some helpful info that may be informative for you, in terms of next steps and future prevention: https://rabbit.org/treating-sore-hocks/

Hi! I have a three year old Dutch mix and a one year old American (i think) mix. I got Eliot the male last year from a rescue after Shiloh’s previous bonding attempts with another male from the rescue fell through (they showed no interest in each other and fought at the rescue). I’ve had him for about a year. They had them do dates at the rescue…[Read more]

Thank you so much, Bam <3 I’m hoping we’re on the right track now, and that all of this will be over soon. I pray I can have my normal girl back, and keep her in my family for many years to come! Thank you so much for your support, in the meantime!

Fingers so very crossed for you and Hunny! It does sound hopeful,ย  I’m glad you are seeing a rabbit specialist now.

💗💗💗 for Hunny. And for you, for being amazing!

    Thank you for the advice!

When the one bunny was humping my other bunny, I picked the humping bunny up and it became clear he is a male. I have separated them for now, and I am working on scheduling a vet appointment soon. However it is unclear if my other rabbit is pregnant, as I haven’t noticed any nesting behaviors.

Also try to make him move around a bit. It often helps the tummy!

Hunny just came home from the specialist. I wasn’t able to go because of my anxiety, but my father and sister took her and said the vet Hunny saw was “very knowledgable.” That gave me some comfort. Based on everything Hunny has experienced (I wrote a comprehensive data table chronicling this issue based on what I’ve typed here on BinkyBunny), the…[Read more]

Hunny has to get a CT scan. The vet is hopeful, but I’m terrified.

Her cage doesn’t have wire cage flooring. Is plastic still harsh on her hocks? Thanks for the tutorial. I’ll try and check it out.

Oh Chewie! Lol I can just imagine him flipping out. Hopefully he will realize the world isn’t ending and she isn’t so bad. I saw her on insta, she is gorgeous! I don’t know how anybun could resist her. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hahahaha that’s how it goes I hear! I don’t need any encouragement lol.

Myra is still keeping a VERY close eye on Bonnie, so not sure how easy they will be. But things can be quite different in neutral space, so who knows.

I’m just happy there haven’t been any pee wars!

If her cage has a wire floor, you should get some mats in there ASAP for her hocks. You can make newspaper mats easily (and cheaply!) and they are pretty comfy for bunny feet. Here’s a tutorial: http://www.bunssb.org/buns-newsletter/september-2013/make-mat/

Glad to hear you found a vet! ๐Ÿ™‚

He could be having some gas, as you suspect. You can give him a tummy rub and try giving simethicone (baby gas drops). That will often do the trick.

It does seem like some sort of swallowing-problem? That she eats better with her head held high makes it seem like she needs the help of gravity to swallow.

Dysphagia is the medical term for difficulty swallowing. It can have several causes.

Last night was interesting: Minimal change from Hunny, but she was interested in her hay cookie treats and got two down (with some difficulty). We then got in the corral with her around midnight and offered her pieces of greens, strawberry tops, and apple slices. My girl ate a little of each; sheย loved the apple. Woke up this morning to a…[Read more]
