14 hours is a very long time for rabbits to be in the car, I would recommend giving them time outside of the carrier to at least feed them, and they most likely won’t take any food, so most people recommend giving water and food with a syringe. I would also give them some break time to use the litter box and such. Some people also like giving…[Read more]

Hello everyone! I am going to be traveling to Florida next week and I am bringing my two rabbits with me. The reason I am bringing them is because we are going for about a month and I feel like that is too long to leave them. Both my buns are very nervous in the car but the longest they have ever driven is about 40 minutes to the vet. Does anyone…[Read more]

I agree with Wick. Vinegar is the way to go, plus it eliminates pee and poo odors.

Sounds like a good plan! Always good to base off your vet’s comfort level and the bun’s development.

Thanks guys, I actually called a month and a half or so ago when he was between 3-4 months, and they suggested 6-8, and seemed to think 4-5 was early, although I find that number to be the consensus online. Dana, I think that is actually where I got that number from and was surprised!
There is something downstairs but…not much! haha. I’ll just…[Read more]

Based off your reply, my hunch is that it could still her hormones draining a bit, or the bum over the side thing. Females can have a post-spay craze, and it can take up to 6 weeks for the hormones to fully drain.
The bum over the side thing is funny because my female used to do this if I put too much bedding or hay in the box so that the side…[Read more]

I’m no expert, but male rabbits can be neutered pretty early. My rabbit just turned 6mo and was neutered months ago at the shelter before we adopted him. If your rabbit doesn’t have any super-aggressive or territorial behaviors, you can put it on hold, but your rabbit is old enough to get neutered. Some vets are very full and sometimes the next…[Read more]

Here I am replying again! My vet decides more based off of weight than age, but males are typically neutered a lot sooner than females because the procedure is much less invasive. I don’t think I’ve heard the recommendations a minimum of 6 months for rabbits… that seems long to me, but some bunnies do take a long time for their testes to drop…[Read more]

Hey everybody! It’s been a while. Beau is just shy of 5 months and is doing just fine. As some of you know, I had some questions on neutering/bonding and I have since changed my tune a bit. (Thanks Dana!) Instead of racing to get it done, we are taking our sweet time.
That said there is still lots of conflicting info out there. Some sources state…[Read more]

Oh, what a poor baby! He looks like he was in a really bad situation. He is so lucky that you rescued him. All he needs is a little love and care! I bet with some love and lots of yummy food, he will be super great in no time.

Hi! Their litter boxes are actually cat litter boxes so the are big enough for them to both sit in. However, I will try and watch her to see if she is hanging her butt outside of the litterbox and then peeing. I didn’t even think of that so I didn’t pay attention to it.
I have made it to where they can only access their hay in the litter boxes so…[Read more]
