She was on meloxicam last week when i took her before i knew she has EC. But i didn’t receive anymore just the pancur. And yes on the instructions my vet gave me i have to give it for 30 days once a day.

There’s not really a cure for EC, but treatment can put it in remission and many bunnies do not relapse. Keep in mind that Panacur has to be given for at least 28 days and improvement will be slow. It doesn’t happen overnight. I agree with Bam that pain medication is important since a lot of symptoms are the result of inflammation.

Thank you Dana! Budja’s is doing well, the hospital called me this morning and said that she has started to eat some hay on her own, her poops are still a little abnormal but that’s to be expected after a major operation and after being under for a few hours. She does have an ulcer on her eye from being under and whatnot too but that is also being…[Read more]

EC can be treated successfully with panacur (fenbendazole) or oxibendazole for 28 days. Fenbendazole is the preferred drug, but for buns that don’t do well on it, oxibendazole is another option.
Metacam (meloxicam) helps bring down the tissue inflammation that happens due to the ec.
For vertigo and vertigo-related nausea, some vets prescribe…[Read more]

Just got a text from the vet she tested positive for EC. Is it curable?

I have had rabbits before on and off since I was a kid. I am in my early thirties now. I also have never been perfect at taking care of them but, have always tried my best. I was given the responsibility recently a few months back to take care of a rabbit named Sweet Pea for my “second parents” as I have been living with them. She was about 6…[Read more]

Thank you all so much for the input. He is doing much better now. He started eating and drinking early in the morning. Bowels moved and all! I have a vet appointment scheduled. I know washing bunnies is frowned upon and I made sure he was nice and dry and no cold water. My fear was poison was on his fur and he kept cleaning himself so it was only…[Read more]

EC tests can be unreliable so you might inquire about treating for EC anyway. Many vets will treat on suspicion without a test result. The treatment is relatively safe and affordable.

Yeah just with a scope. I have to wait a week for the EC results.
She said if the results come out negative the next step is a CT scan.

My rabbits all love palm plates and grass mats for chewing. Willow and apple sticks (fresh ones!) are also a favorite. It can def take some experimentation to find chews that your bun likes.
As for hides, you could build one out of wood (there are also a lot of “Ikea hacks” using various wooden crates they sell), or you can get a plastic laundry…[Read more]

I would call poison control. They should be able to give you more specific information about the toxicity of the poison you used. I’m looking at the active ingredients for the Zevo ant and roach spray and it looks to be mostly essential oils, which could cause some irritation but it’s very unlikely they would cause a systemic reaction. I agree…[Read more]
