So the neurologist does think it’s something neurological? But nobody wants to continue the EC treatment just to be sure? I think that if it is a neurological problem, it is much more likely to be EC than this condition that affects dogs. That’s just my thought.

Yay!
If you cant watch your buns all the time, if you f ex have work or school, the cones are necessary. It does happen that rabbits tear open their surgical wounds. We recently had a member here whose bun took off the cone and messed with the surgical wound, until the vet taped it in place. Wearing a cone is often stressful for rabbits though,…[Read more]

Happy July! I’m both sad that the year is going fast but excited for nicer weather to come back around. I have an outside job, so working in this 100 degree heat has been more than unenjoyable.

LBJ – I’ve combed him with the flea comb and he was calm for it. I only have a furminator which would be too abrasive for him right now, so I have to get me one of those cat brushes with the little protective beads at the end of the bristles.
Speaking of him looking like a deer – he has a pretty long tail, and when he gets nervous he raises it u…[Read more]

Omg y’all… sorry if you’re tired of me always posting pictures, but I just had to share these. I went to check on him and he was completely knocked out, and had pushed the blanket so that he could use it as a pillow. I just stood there and watched him and he was twitching and kicking his back feet in his sleep. Seriously one of the most precious…[Read more]

People aren’t supposed to shoot off fireworks yet here. Interesting how there are so many “booms” outside. 🙄
I can’t believe July is here. I feel like the entire year is just flashing before my eyes. In other news, I spotted a wheel bug nymph today. I picked him up and moved him over to a plant. I told him to be free and eat as many…[Read more]

most people don’t end up using the cones I’ve heard, but lots of rabbits end up trying to get at their stitches, which you don’t want. Some people spend all their time watching their buns, but I know that doesn’t work out for most people.

Thank you for getting back to me. It does make sense that there is something wrong with the bond. Unfortunately, I’ve already taken them on a car journey to the vets (it’s 30 mins away) and doesn’t change it one bit.
problem is…well, Ethel is the problem 😂. Ethel nearly died when she was 3. She had a severe abscess and osteomyelitis. She’s…[Read more]

I was thinking something with the bond because you mentioned that she was harassing him a lot at night, plus all the territorial behaviors? Since you’ve ruled out a medical issue, to me those things indicates something is up with the bond. Not really that they have unbonded, but that she is feeling the need to exert dominance.
Routinely…[Read more]

@skysblue, love your little christmas present bun!
Pegasus in the food bowl cracks me up too.
And good captions 😀
Dorian’s has a weird habit that he’s been doing for a bit (well not that weird really), but just realizing it was not coincidence… if we are eating dinner he has to eat dinner too (his room is right next to dinning area). If I…[Read more]

Occasional sneezing is not a bad thing, it’s often hay dust. Sneezing more or less every day, several times per day is not good. Combined with a wet, runny nose and wheezing breathing sounds when he’s under some stress (being picked up is always cause a bit of stress in buns), I think it’d be good to schedule a vet visit. An uncomplicated URI can…[Read more]

By that I mean, I’m not sure how I can bond them anymore than they already are? Ethel just gets overexcited.

Thanks for the reply. Gus seems to be absolutely perfect. His litter habits are impeccable, he’s happy (does lots of zooms and binkies), eating fine. Vet visually checked him over when he had his vaccinations in May. Said his teeth were perfect and coat was glossy/healthy. I can’t see a reason to get any further tests.
I’ve done an exper…[Read more]
