8 months old? Sassy? Yep, sounds about right to me. Typical teenage bunny. Honestly, I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Things will likely evolve with your relationship as he gets older and matures a little bit.
As for the brushing, sometimes there’s just no way around it. Do what you gotta do and then…[Read more]

hey guys! I’ve had my rabbit Theodore for about 8 months now. He was about 3 months old when I adopted him. (he was a shelter rescue). I should also mention that he’s neutered.

he’s very sassy. he snorts at me almost constantly– petting him, putting his food bowl down, even sometimes when I do the crime of *gasp* standing up if he happens to…[Read more]

Raelinn & Gus replied to the topic Tips for brushing a bun who hates being brushed? in the forum DIET & CARE 2 weeks, 3 days ago
I have not, but that is mainly due to the fact I am uber afraid of him being outside. Whether due to possible pesticides or treatments on the grass, an RHDV2 outbreak, or just him getting out, I have chosen to keep him strictly indoors for my own sanity!
I have recently discovered that he does not mind being lint rolled, he seems to genuinely…[Read more]

A week ago I took both my buns to the vet when Lage, the younger, more skittish one of them, was getting his yearly RVHD-vaccination. I figured he needed his girlfriend Snöa for moral support. Everything went well.
The day after I caught Snöa humping Lage’s head. I’ve never seen either of them showing any kind of aggression towards the o…[Read more]

I adopted a bunny awhile back (its been several years ago now) who came from the shelter pregnant – unbeknownst to anyone. It was quite a shock! That’s pretty crazy both breeder and vet missed their genders with your buns!
I would suggest watching some videos/read some tutorials on sexing bunnies. Now that you have some little ones (and don’t…[Read more]

Sarah replied to the topic Hay Bale Storage Help – Plastic Bin Suggestions? in the forum DIET & CARE 1 month ago
I know it is not a plastic bin but find it super useful. I bought a bag from Canadian Tire that you put your outdoor cushions in. I bring it with me to pick up the bale and place it in the bag then I can bring the bag inside and the van is clean and the floors bringing it in. also if you would like plastic the deck boxes for your cushions and…[Read more]

Thanks for the feedback. As soon as I found out I separated them. Pebble had 4 kits last night unfortunately 2 died.

Was there a reason they weren’t separated when you found out you had a boy and girl? They can get pregnant again immediately after giving birth. At this point, there isn’t much you can do. Mama will take care of the babies. They will need to be separated after they are weaned and before they are 12 weeks. Then you’ll have to decide if you want to…[Read more]

hey all. so had 2 beautiful bun girls Pearl and Pebble at 5w. took them in at 3m to vet they also confirmed both girls. 6m later she is building a nest. again the breeder and the vet said it is just a false pregnancy although she seems young to be doing that. she was scheduled that week to get spayed both her and her sister. Turns out that Pe…[Read more]

Hmm… that’s interesting. For what it’s worth though, there was definitely a delayed reaction. The humping didn’t always immediately follow the stress-inducing thing.

They do have stuffies but ever since they found each other, they ignore the stuffies (and me ).
Every time I have seen Momo hump, I have not noticed anything particularly happening. I do see Momo eyeing Anpan’s backside for a good half minute beforehand like she’s determining if it’s a good time to do so, once she starts, she seems cautious…[Read more]

Something just occurred to me. Could Momo be doing it out of stress? We had a stress humper and he would get the urge to hump for reasons outside of the relationship. For example, fireworks, loud noises, etc.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Humping while bonded in the forum BONDING 1 month ago
Oh wow, I guess when she nips, she goes all out. Have you tried redirecting Momo? It works sometimes for boys to redirect them to a stuffed animal. Maybe it will work for a girl bun too? The idea is they still get that urge to hump something satisfied without the humpee getting upset.

mia replied to the topic Humping while bonded in the forum BONDING 1 month, 1 week ago
Yes but Anpan’s nips mean she ends up with mouthful of fur, including pulled fur, and then she eats it (I have some thick syrup from the vet for her eating fur).
Before Momo joined, when it was just Anpan and Mooncake (the boy), Anpan would nip Mooncake so much he hid in the bathroom overnight. So, I can see if Momo doesn’t stop, that it possibly…[Read more]

Humping is not necessarily a concern. I would only interfere if Anpan appears to want to escalate things. You said she gives a nip and Momo backs off immediately?

So I’m back to having a trio but this is the first time I had two girls; previously, it’s always been two boys and one girl.
I would consider them fully bonded for 3 weeks and they were together in xpen since meeting for one month prior to that. I’ve only previously dealt with humping during bonding sessions but never when fully bonded. In this…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic A bonding nightmare (Also, hi all, it's been a while) in the forum BONDING 1 month, 1 week ago
This seems like a good place to start. And, who knows, maybe having Cinnamon away from the other two for a while will make her forget about not liking anyone. It’s possible she will warm up to the idea of a friend (or friends) after she has spent some time away from them. It sounds like it won’t be too difficult to get Hopper and Biscuits bonded.
