I think if you can handle working with all 4 together, it would be better to work with the 4 at the same time since that’s the main goal.

Sharing a playtime area is good, but not at the same time as the other one, right? For when you officially do start bonding sessions, once you have mastered neutral territory, a place where neither bun has been before, the playtime area could work as semi-neutral-territory.

Thank you for the responses! The actual floor part isn’t too much of an issue, it’s more the 6″ going up the sides of the cage. I added that in hopes that it will reduce how much fur and poop gets tossed out of the cage, and it works great except for this one spot in the back that he just won’t leave alone. There’s never any fur pulling or nipping even before they were bonded.
The fast chasing.. can’t really tell coz my girl can’t run that fast, tho I have seen her stack it when she was trying to jump up somewhere when she was startled by his sudden movement.

A few weeks after spay/neuter, hormones will still be floating around, and they will need some time to recover after the neuter. After 3-4 weeks, then I would say you could start pre-bonding. House them next to each other, so that they can see/smell/hear the other bun, but not close enough so that they can harm each other.

Oh thank you so much!!! We have a TSC like 20 minutes away,  where we get goat feed and other stuff… The next time we go there, I will definitely pick up some horse stall pellets! I search it up on the Tractor Supply website, and the pellets are softwood. Here is a picture.

I did another bonding session a few nights ago it went well.
