Looks like overgrooming, or ripped out fur. Does he live with another rabbit? Although from the shape of it it looks to me like he might have actually done it himself.

Hello! I was brushing and plucking out loose fur in my rabbit when I noticed a huge bald spot above his tail. It does not seem dry, flaky, or painful but it is very red. What could this be? Should I be worried??

Smoke Pearl is confusingly a colour as well as a breed, so the colour is present in other breeds. There are two versions of the colour, smoke pearl, and smoke pearl marten. 🙂

I just did bunny dates with Theo and Rosie and Calliope and Rosie.

Theo and Rosie – I didn’t let it go on for very long. It felt like a little over 3 min. I know, I am a wimp and I forgot to time it. It went much better than I thought it would. It seemed like they were saying “hi friend” and picked up where I left them with bonding.

Whether you allow free roaming at night is up to you. I do think it’s good to have a home base for your bun regardless of whether it’s for night time or not, because you may want to shut bunny up while you’re not at home, or if you have visitors over that can’t be trusted to not open the bedroom door etc. You need to make sure that your room is…[Read more]

Panacur is the right treatment for E.c. I’m assuming an ear infection was ruled out as a cause. In terms of the tilt and treatment, from what I have read it is not unusual for the tilt to continue to worsen before it gets better. Has anybody’s rabbit/bunny had e.cuniculi and been treated with Panacur? The minute I saw symptoms I looked it up and brought him to a emergency clinic. Don’t stress too much, we all make mistakes during bonding!

But definitely make sure the next session is in neutral territory! I would continue doing pre-bonding (side swaps) for another week or so. This will let them calm down a bit from the fight as well. The initial grooming was very good, the fight not so good, but not the end of the world…[Read more]
