It didn’t really seem to work in his case. 🙁

@jerseygirl I read somewhere (maybe on a megacolon site?) that a vet had tried a fecal transplant through an enema…. but I mentioned this to my vet when I was dealing with Pippen (that foster I had with cecal dysbiosis), and he said that would be very dangerous because of how thin the wall of the…[Read more]

Right! And maybe we could even reason with them a little haha.

With mats it can help to kind of try to pull on the sides of them (rather than the end) and work them out that way.

Are they from her being kind of soiled? Or is she currently molting and there’s just a lot of extra fluff?

As long as it’s grass hay, it’s probably fine, however alfalfa is not good for adult rabbits.

I have looked for bonding help and had no luck unfortunately. Due to covid it makes thing even more harder. I am in the US, California. I was offered a few numbers for people who do have a lot of experience and no one has gotten back to me. She use to have a stuffy and loved it! She would groom it and everything.  I’ll have to try leaving it with…[Read more]

I called and asked a farm feed store that’s about an hour away “what kinds of hay do you guys have?”. They said “a mix of a little bit of everything”. I replied “like what?”, they said “it’s best to come look for yourself”. Lol what? I guess I can look when I’m passing through but I’d like to know what kinds of hay they have. Is “a little bit…[Read more]

OMG!!! I’m so excited for you, bunnies are the best! Thank you for the help I will definitely try that out. I normally brush them on my bathroom counter so they aren’t super squirmy but every now and then you can see them plotting their escape 😆

My rabbit doesn’t eat much hay? I got him 2 and a half months ago and I waited a while to make sure it wasn’t stress keeping him from eating much, but know a couple of months later he’s doing really well but still not eating much hay? I give him 2 cups of leafy vegetables and 3 tablespoons of pellets a day and unlimited hay and water. I’ve looked…[Read more]

Oh yeah! 2 days is nothing, hopefully she will calm down. I think holding the kitten and letting bun come out and sniff on her own terms might be helpful too.

I support experimenting with different sizes of space, physical locations, and levels of stress, since different things work better for different bunnies.

Have you heard of using a stuffy/surrogate with bonding? The idea is you get one rabbits scent all over a toy stuffed bunny, then put it in the other bun’s enclosure. You can even do this as…[Read more]

Yes I wish you the best of luck on your trio! I’ve heard of some very easy bonds with girls. And of course a whole new place should definitely help. Ive just never dealt with a bun whose fight instinct is so high. (Flight or fight and velvet definitely fights) I’m not to sure how to get past it but keeping ziggy in the clear. When i was doing…[Read more]

That helps me feel better. I would feel awful if they could not come exist. We have only had the kitten 2 days. The kitten has just shown interest. Like will look in her pen but if he comes too close she starts circling the cage and thumping. I haven’t had my bun out of her cage while they were in the same room after her initial reaction (he w…[Read more]

Poor Ziggy. 🙁  And that makes sense with the girls. I’m anxiously anticipating when I finally start working on my trio, because I know the girls are going to be the hard part. I’m hoping that going to a totally neutral space will be helpful with mine, because Myra is for sure being a bit territorial.

That’s stressful. 🙁 I’ve had a few foster bunnies that freaked out over my cat, whereas other’s don’t mind at all. How long have you had the kitten? More time might be the best solution, as even the buns I fostered that initially were very afraid of my cat eventually got used to him. I think short term, best is to help keep the kitten away from…[Read more]
