Omg you guys. Wally just came back from an ER stay for stasis. I was just informed that he has chewed a hole under the couch and was just caught inside the couch. This explains how he got sick. You guys…I had a couch with recliners and got rid of it a year ago for rabbit safety. What can I do to keep him out of there???

Louie was free roam before he started bed peeing 🙄 and my plan was to have a two-layer xpen situation, an xpen for the bun and then a second one surrounding it to provide a little bit of buffer space.

Ditto everything HipHopbunny said.
So he won’t allow you to take him, but he’s considering “letting” you take him to the vet? Like he’s doing you a favor? Don’t let this guy take advantage of you, I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually wanted you to foot the bill.

Thanks everyone!
Not sure the friend idea will work for several reasons. Cats being a big one. But you did make me think more creatively and I could maybe use the storage room in the basement. I’d have to check with my neighbors as we share the space and their washer/drier are down there. Also the other bathroom would maybe work for bonding, he…[Read more]

Food works wonders for mine too. As he gets older and his diet expands it will be easier but for now try to find something he can eat that you can entice him with. The other option is to mind of herd him in, which can be done without scaring him, but could make him mad. On the days move ignore treats and instructions and I have to herd them I…[Read more]

I would try craisins. I know he’s still a baby but if you gave him one craisin as a bed time treat I think it would be fine. Or even just half of one. No bunny can resist them, they’re called bunny crack for a reason. 😉

Glad to hear it!
Sometimes bunnies get so obsessed with seemingly strange things!

I think a combo of what tobyluv suggests, and maybe designating a room now that he is no longer allowed in might be a good idea. Give enough time, that room should become mostly neutral eventually.
Kitchens and bathrooms can work well because the floor can be wiped down to neutralize smells easily (and cleaning up is easier!).
Bathtubs are also…[Read more]

I agree that food is the answer. Does he get excited about fresh hay? My buns will often run to their boxes after I top up their hay, so maybe you could time his hay-freshening for when you need him to go back in?

Okay, I filled it out. Thanks for giving me the link! I couldn’t answer some of the question, though, as Peter and Benji were bonded when I got them. I did my best.
Spay/Neuter
Are your bunnies spayed/neutered? Yes
If so, for how long (for each)? I don’t know. I got them already neutered.
If not, why not?
Are you aware of reproductive cancer r…[Read more] -

Our landlord is going to hire an exterminator but said they wont be able to come and spray until a few weeks into September. Anyone know of any bunny safe roach killing tactics I c…[Read more]

The problem is that my bun isn’t too interested in his pellets. He doesn’t really eat that many and I don’t think he will recognize that there are pellets in the jar. I gave him a toilet paper roll with pellets in it once and he didn’t seem to notice they were in it. Plus he is a new addition to the family, so I don’t think he’ll run up to me qu…[Read more]

I have had good luck bonding rabbits using an x-pen. Even if the pen is in a room that one of the rabbits has been in before, it can become its own little neutral space. You can place a sheet, blanket or large towels on the floor to mask any scents already on it. You could even hang some blankets on the side of the x-pen to take away the sig…[Read more]

Hmm, do you have a friend who would allow you to take Dorian over and try neutral territory there? Or could you just not allow him in your room so that could be neutral? Sorry if this isn’t a satisfying answer. <3
